I wonder about building sites most days for my job and since lockdown, with such limited equipment, other than actual weight plates (though, I've now found a metal crafter - if that's actually a term), things like pull up bars, dip stations or even stands for the best part, can quite easily be made from scaffold.

Scaffold is pretty flipping cheap in comparison to a lot of things for sale.
Possibly more sturdy for a lot of requirements and easy to put together if you have a grade D in design and technology CSE.

I have had my heavy duty pull up bar delayed again until June 12th, but I'll keep it in place as it's only 2 weeks away.

Anybody here got pics of their home efforts?

I've seen scaffold used for a few domestic lifters, for should pressing.
I've seen quite a few dip bars too.

I would say to make stuff out of scaff all you need is 2 arms 2 legs and half a brain.

I ''borrowed" some scaff from a building site when I was 15 to make my first squat rack.

I had a visit from the old bill a couple of days later who had a tip off I had been pinching tools, they searched my bedroom didn't mention the squat rack or my porn stash.

More recently 2008 before I knew I was a welder I made a viking press from scaff.

Check out Ryan England and Colin Hawkins on Instagram. Both are currently using scaffold set ups for home training.

I'd like to say scaffolders are an intelligent bunch, owning a scaffolding company an all, but we really aren't Happy

Metal Crafter is a fabricator here.

Railway sleepers are cheaper than scaff for diy racks. Think two down T shapes. That will use three thirty quid sleepers.
You’ll need 2x4 for braces and a length of scaff for a brace/pull up bar.
Add J hooks for squats and a second length of scaff for heavy yoke (200kg without weight). 1.8m is long enough for the I in the T. If you try leaving it at 2.4m, the length sleepers come in, it will be more like 250-280kg. Wet sleepers are heavier than dry.

Check out the kabuki strength folding wooden rack. Looks very simple but effective if you just want stands but wouldn't have safeties like you could build on a scaffold rack

lols child of the 80's with the ubiquitous porn stash! Kids nowadays have no idea about the constant worry of your mum finding your treasure trove of wank mags.
