Member 4923, 1795 posts | Hi all, have any of you found an effective, sustainable treatment for chronic nerve pain? I hear cannabis can be good if there are no side effects. Also seen visits to the osteopath mentioned here before. Would be good to hear sugdenites experiences of this matter.

E.g. i had problems with my sciatic nerve which can often be due to your discs trapping it but for me it was a tight and inflamed piriformis putting pressure on the nerve.

Member 4923, 1795 posts | Hi Dean, Its the side of the neck down into the shoulder. An MRI was done and the cause identified as wear and tear due to old age! A cortisone injection was recommended but I was just wondering if anyone has got relief in other ways. Cheers.

Member 4416, 1369 posts SQ 210, BP 175, DL 240625.0 kgs @ 122kgs UnEq | I went through the best part of 18 months without any kind of medical intervention, coming from a bad back - osteoarthritis, from kickboxing. It didn't quite incapacitate me but it took away some basic function. I was fairly certain I could work strength back in to it and most of it through careful weight training, but I chose to effectively be stoned for most of a 12 month period. Being stoned (heavily), is not for everybody in general but I found pain relief excellent and a side effect of that, it lasted for hours and kept me asleep. Waking up in pain is one of the worst things, so to lay wasted for the night was really something.

Member 4923, 1795 posts | Thank you Sam. Did you only get stoned at night before bed? Did this have any effect on you the next day?

About 1 hour before bed.
