I've had similar, might not be much help as mine was caused by squatting, it often didn't hurt whilst squatting though. I switched to a high bar, thumbless grip, took my hands out a bit, sorted it out pretty quick. Even if he doesn't think it's squats it might be worth trying, I wasn't sure it was squatting that was doing it to me until I tested it out. | ||

It doesn't hurt during or after squats, but it makes benching very painful. I manage it by doing most of my squats high bar. When I go low bar, I go thumbless. Improving upper back strength and doing lots of curls for bicep tendon strength has helped too. | ||
