for what its worth, i got shown a yoga stretch that seems to be helping a little bit.

You lie with a foam roller under your upper back with your hands behind your head, so you're in a position of full thoracic extension with your arms open, stretching the pecs. You then do what is known as the "full yogic breath", whereby you take a deep breath initially into the lower abdomen but then kind of fill up your entire lungs, until the same breath is also going into your upper lungs. I probably explained that really badly but i found that it stretches the rib cage which seems to have some tight muscles surrounding it (for me). It feels unpleasant at the time but then somewhat better afterwards.

Book a slot with a physio or one of those sports injury people.
