When squatting on Monday I had a very loud pop from my right knee on the 1st squat, then on the 2nd the same from my left knee. There was no pain and I was able to finsh that set of 3, then 1 more set of 3 at same weight, then a drop of 10kg for a final set of 3.

I am thinking that it's nothing much to worry about due to no pain at the time and no soreness, stiffness, pain etc since. I have also been able to train as per normal.

just wondering if anyone else has popping joints or past experiance of similar.

Could be possible I'm used to the grinding in my knees but this was a first and was really loud. My wife was sat about 5 foot away grooming the dog on the patio and she heard it over the music playing and thought my knee had snapped.

If i could get my pc to recognise the phone I would upload the video.

This has just happened once in each knee?

Yes on Monday (1/9).I did deads and lunges on Weds no issues, squat's again Fri (lowbar) no issues. They feel fine today just the normal stiffness/ache in legs from yesterday and from sitting to much.

I have exactly this!! Don't wanna go to the GP he'll just tell me to not lift for 6 weeks, they click all the time, but not pain.

Glad its not just me... It's more for peace of mind posting about it on here. Also the fact I'm more likely to get a sensible response (mostly) from guys who understand the lifts.

Certainly don't want to go to my GP who has no clue and from previouis experiance states things like... Squats are bad for you. Don't lift more than 20kg above your head its too dangerous. Oh a front squat thats where you pick it up of the ground right....

I'm coming to the end of my current cycle and am booking a sports therapist session during my deload week so I'll mention it then.

I really wouldn't worry about it, like, at all.

So I just got back from the Physio. It appears the Popping could well have been crepitus (one house point to all that suggested this).

However it appears I have several issues possibly all conected to one another.
I have an inflamed ligament going from L5 where the spine is also rotated at the L5 hence the inflammation, this in turn causing my pelvis to rotate.
I also have a tight right piraformis.
My Adductor Longus is really tight on the left side.
My left Glute is inhibited and not firing at all.
Tight Hips especially the left rotating out.
Signs of degeration at the rear of the left knee.
Oh and my Core needs more strengh which is a possibility why my spine is twisted at L5 which has led to all the other issues.

so in summing up my user name is spot on.
