Well I have a desk job and work from home so I took no time off at all, using a computer was awkward but doable. You can't drive for a few weeks though, and lifting your arm on it's own is pretty much out of the question for about 2 months, so most manual stuff would be tough. Mine was a bad tear though, very nearly totally torn off so it might not be as bad for you.
