Sitting about 106-108 clothed dave so almost there. Gonna stick to the diet though and try to be a bit leaner and healthier as ive still got a wee bit of belly to lose.

Quick morning session before work today.

19" deadlift:

Worked up to

300kg x 2, felt very hard today so dropped back to
260kg x 3 sets of 6

Did some grip stuff then home.

Picked up a bit of a niggle in my left hip doing yoke at the weekend so went a bit lighter on the pulls and did heaps of foam rolling and mobility work to try and loosen it off a bit. Doesn't seem to be anything too serious but will try and keep on top of it to avoid it becoming any worse.

Pretty average session but managed to get some work in.

More cardio again tonight. Another 80 minutes of rugby, this time playing all but 10 minutes of it at number 8. A good bit more running about and ball carrying than my last game but good fun.

Planning to play the odd game next season for a bit of cardio but concentrate mainly on the stromgman. It is basically social rugby so not too serious and I can just turn up for games without having to train so just a bit of fun.

Back in the gym today for some pressing, nursing a few wee knocks and niggles from rugby on tuesday so didn't go crazy.

Log:

85kg x a few sets of 5, a variety of one motions, push presses and jerks
95kg x a few sets of 5, as above, various tech again
100kg x a few singles, just playing about with different tech again with some push presses and jerks

Tried to do a bit of dumbell but tweaked something in my right lat at rugby taking a big hit so wasn't able to do much.

Did a bit of tricep and rear delt work then home

Alright session I suppose bit not fit for much.

Will have to try for a better session tomorrow.

On a more positive note my weight is now down to 106.1 kg clothed so just about there.

Out on the bike again, about 18 miles in 1 hour 17 minutes. Very tough ride, the first 2 thirds of it were all uphill with varying degrees of steepness and the last portion was fairly undulating as well. Not a lot of fun but glad to be finished and feel better for it.

In for yet another average session today.

Farmers hold:

95kg x 40 sec
105kg x 35 sec
115kg x 2 holds of 20 sec
125kg x 2 holds of 20 sec
135kg x 20 sec
115kg x 2 holds of 20 sec

Keg loading to 52" with approx 8m run in:

130kg ish x 7 or 8 runs, me and ben just went run about one after another. Easy enough but the bottom of the keg is all buckled and cut both of my biceps quite badly.

Sled drag:

200kg x a few runs of 16m, straightforward enough.

Alright session I suppose but again got to the gym and just couldn't be arsed. Really struggling for motivation recently and training feels like a chore rather than enjoyable as it should be. Still not too far away from where I need to be for the 105s but should be having better sessions this close to the comp.

Take a few days off buddy, don't push it and burn out before the comp

You have already done a couple comps this year, you have to be careful

Yeah planning to have the weekend off and then try to get one more week of solid training in before a rest week. I don't plan to do anything too crazy next week anyway as I'm not going to get any stronger this late in the day so just gotta make sure my technique is good for comp day.
