They mentioned that 1 active duty soldier commits suicide every day and 1 former soldier every 80 minutes. That's a terrible loss of human life and I have a lot of respect for the coaches involved in this and the athletes and individuals themselves and the good they do if it helps in some way.

Takes a lot of guts to pick yourself and get on with life and irregardless of what people what people think of Crossfit, this sort of thing can only be good!

Move to Australia then. Crossfit is huge here too.

Edit: To provide an idea of how 'huge' it is, I know that there are at least 11 Crossfit gyms/boxes within 10 (or so) miles of where I live.

2nd edit: I've watched some of the video now - very inspirational.

I liked that video.
Have dabbled with crossfit before and loved it. I just never kept up with it.

I remember doing Fran something or other and it was immense. I finished it but took about 30 odd minutes.

Here it is.

I dont get the issue with Crossfit? other than the coaches thinking the invented olympic lifting and the use of events as a form of cardio/conditioing. and the fact they never f**king shut up with the "i do crossfit" BS!

done fran last Friday as my introduction to crossfit - 8:34 of hell!!!

probably contributed to my glutes going spastic considering I had squatted and overhead pressed earlier in the day as well!

Just watched a guy do the Fran workout in 1:53 which was impressive but I'd like to add their version of pull ups to that list!

that video is pretty motivational, could you just do a wod once a week as conditioning work whilst continuing your normal training

Of course, a lot of wods are based on circuit training, high rep bodyweight movements and low rep high cadence work. People have been conditioning like that for decades! The wods stop you having to think one up for yourself Grin
