Been struggling getting to sleep a lot recently and starting to get really tired. Also I generally struggle with fatigue anyway.

Once I am asleep I tend to wake up with the mrs going toilet or whatever else so never get good sleep, but if could nod of straight away it be fine instead of couple hours being awake.

Anyone suffer not getting to sleep and anything helped with it?

Cheers

I've been the same recently, struggle dropping off. Once I'm asleep it's fine, I get really tired but sleep just won't come. Been getting about 3-4 hours a night for the last couple of months. Reading has helped sometimes but not always.

1. Remove electrical devices from your bed room. Don't be on the phone or laptop before bed.

2. Have a warm shower before going to bed.

3. Try having 250mg of Magnesium 30mins prior to going to bed. Knocks me the f**k out and into a deep sleep.

Try those 3 things first for a week.

I'll second the ZMA and Melatonin. They seem to make the biggest difference for me.

I had trouble sleeping recently and after:
re-adding ZMA
adding a blackout blind
removing some electrical stuff
reading for a bit before bed
changing my mattress
I still had some issues.

It was adding the Melatonin before bed that made a massive difference. Worth a look as NOW Foods do a cheap version.

The biggest thing that made a difference for me, and you wont like it but...

Stop giving a f**k! So its 2am, you have to be up at 7 and you cant get to sleep.....well who gives a f**k, stop getting stressed and go do something fun then try again in an hour. Start accepting that youre only going to get 4 hours sleep, get up at 7, have a cold shower and a coffee and get on with your day. f**k it!

Watch The Godfather while you get in bed and you'll be asleep in 10 mins.

That is actually probably about right. I do start stressing and getting pissed off with it.
Don't matter if I sleep or not I'm always tired.

Download f.lux It dims your screen as time passes by.

I also 2nd the magnesium idea. I take about 2g of magnesium citrate (~400mg magnesium) before bed. Pretty bitter stuff but knocks me out.

Two huge deep breaths and relax after each one and then in a matter of minutes I'm out cold
