Whats your views on this ?

Since alot of strongman events involve reps whats your opinion on devolping this strength ? I always kinda thought if i just trained heavy trying to improve my max all the time then this would lead to getting more reps in an event due to me using a smaller percentage of my one rep max. Poundstone is good at repping things and says he doesnt train to pull eg 400 dead but to be good at repping 350 etc. jimmy marku told me he always trains high reps aswell. What do guys think ? Heavy 5s 3s and singles for max power or mix it up with high reps ?

There was a thread not long ago on here showing Radzikowski doing some ridiculous rep work in the gym.

The author of that log is under impression that strongmen all train high reps and that's why they're so strong and everyone should do high reps to get strong.... Lol

We have 9 or 10 (I think) strongmen in this country who can deadlift 400+

Wonder how many do singles or train reps.....

I've been thinking about this recently, I'm going to start adding a back off set of 10 ish reps on my main lifts, it makes sense to train some higher reps instead of just singles and thinking it'll be fine on comp day.

Quite a few routines have a high rep set to finish or a day specifically for higher reps.

I've found high rep EZ curls to do wonders for sore elbows. Also high rep bodyweight squats make me feel light, nimble and agile. It's more like active recovery than anything else.
