still got flu. food went off track a lil yesterday. wanted to test a new plan but had to end it prematurely

squats
20 x 5, 5, paused
60 x 5, 5, paused
80 x 5
103 x 5
123 x 5
143 x 5
163 x 2, 3, belt

it was hard to get a decent big breath in after each rep with a blocked nose which is why i cut the 1st 163 set short, and by the later sets i got a strange pain in the top of my right shin possibly a result of tech being off.
the 143 was a max effort for today so didnt expect to hit my target of 5 on 163. even without the shin pain i doubt id of got 4 which is s**t to say i did 4x160 beltless last week.
id like to think it was just a combo of flu n tech being off so can only hope next week is better.

chin ups x 5,x 4 sets

curls 40kg x 8, 8, 15

thanks mate. i know its kicked f**k out of me never mind training but i dont feel as bad as i did sunday/monday n hit a cheap deadlift pb monday n a cheeky pb tuesday so cant of effected me that much.

thanks dave. i tend to always train as heavy as i feel i can wen im ill, iv trained a few times feeling a lot worse.

did seated log inside seen as was snowing outside. not that im bothered by training in snow but thought cold muscles are never good n my log has a lot of paint scratched off so might rust.

seated log
40 x 5
60 x 5

100 x 3 PB - had to fight for 2nd let alone 3rd
110 x f - moved off chest but line was off so didnt waste energy commiting
110 x 1 PB - again very tough
90 x 3 + F


wide grip bench press - paused
20 x 10
50 x 5

110 x 2
120 x 1
130 x 3 PB
140 x 1 PB
100 x 10 tng
100 x 7 tng, close grip

10, 20, 30, 40, 50 all x 10 reps



seated log - find this worse than standing strict log, i think bcos i cant get my head back enough to sit the log on delts properly cos my chin gets in way, so it sits on mid chest. this means it starts lower and further from the body so the press is harder and the line it follows is alien to me. the only advantage is stability/balance which is an issue for me on standing log. im sure if i can keep my balance a 110 strict log will go soon.

wide bench - tri's felt hammered before i got started hence the low reps working up. the 130x3 wasnt too bad, my best cgbp is 130 x 4 or 5 paused, so fresh triceps and if i trained wide regularly it cud easy equal my close if not pass it. the 140 was comfy n not too slow, safe to say im good for more. wih fresh tri's n on a good day maybe 150. maybe.

altho i dont like seated log cos its awkward it was nice not cleaning the f**ker and made a slight change. did wide bench for 2 reasons, 1 i fancied a change and 2 tris were to beat up after log to do much close grip.

very happy with numbers today to say there 2 exercises i rarely do.

edit: cheap pbs on bench as iv not pushed my wide grip since feb/march

I'm nervous but looking forward to it more than I was for the comp we did. I've not even thouhgt about openers or anything yet, will have a think about that tonight.

Then if they go as well as I expect I'll go 175/117.5/225

It's going to be strange doing things in a compeition environment, so I need to allow for things that can go wrong. I just want to enjoy the experience more than anything else.
