I'm going to finally get a deadlift suit, having never used one, I wanted to ask the power lifters and experienced suit users their advice. As I am a round back deadlifter, is there a certain suit I should be using? Im pretty quick off the floor but struggle to lock out, max is 305, I weigh 95 and I'm pretty lanky if any of that helps?

Sumo or conv? Get working on your lockout as suits help a lot from the floor. I get around 40kg out of a Metal Pro Squatter and I deadlift sumo. They give you less when you go conv as sumo lifters tend to have better lockouts and miss lifts at the floor, which is where the suit helps.

Naa I'm conventional, not many strongman comps allow sumo, I'm not much good at it anyway, more help off the floor would be good anyway as it would give me a bit more momentum to carry into lock out I'm guessing.

As its for strongman I'd get one with adjustable straps so you can have it loose for reps or crank it up for max events. I have a metal king pro which works great for me but I'm the opposite to you being weak off the floor with a strong lockout.

i fear being fast off floor and slow at lockout doesnt really favour suit wearing.

your max is 305, but you can probably get more off the floor but get stuck above knee?

Thanks, is there actually a different type of suit for round back deadlift or ones suited for different weaknesses, or is a deadlift suit just a deadlift suit? Sorry equipped stuff is completely foreign to me

Yeah I have got 325 to my knees but can't get it any further, I'm currently learning to hitch properly, because most people cringe when I hitch at the moment.

Why learn to hitch at all?! I'm currently trying to learn not to hitch, as I have picked up what I see as a bad habit.
