LOL some great advice in there, 'use a smith machine for squats', powerlifters cheat because they only go to 90 degrees! What?! I've never seen a bodybuilder squat to depth in my gym, ever.

The reply comments at the bottom are pretty good - although obviously totally unnecessary to read for anyone who knows the slightest thing about powerlifting.

Thanks for posting the link though, it's always intresting to see the total bo***cks some people write!

Tut tut. The ignorance that some people have is pretty irritating. I say let them do what they are good at and go and oil themselves up instead of writing articles.

Look up pictures of the best powerlifters. What do they look like?
Barrel-chested and pudgy? Pear-shaped?
Do they look like they even exercise?

Wink

LOL, apart from the 'best' bit it describes me to a tee

This is not only untrue, but the majority of it is the exact opposite of the truth. I don't think the author has actually met a powerlifter. OK, so some of the heavier powerlifters (like myself) don't look too good, but "a 90 degree angle of the knees" - I wish I could get passed with that - the angle of the knee has to be way past 90 for a lifter with big quads to get in; "bouncing the bar off the chest" - has anyone seen an actual powerlifter do this? Ever? "Wearing the belt for all exercises" - a lot of powerlfiters will do many of their lighter sets of squats and DLs without a belt. The people who keep a belt on all the time are body builders. This is beneficial for them because it helps to prevent increases in waist size.

It sounds to me as if this individual has come up with these theories based on meeting one person who claims to be a powerlifter. They have fabricated a load of generalisations based on this. But, that's the problem with bodybuilders, they are all called Kevin, listen garage music and live in a caravan near Skipton.

After realising how i've ruined 'everything', i'm crying like a large pudgy baby on my over-sized barrel chest.

Nearly 40 years since we put man on the moon and people still actually believe this s**te. Scary. How do such people get through everyday life?
