I'm not trying to be a dick about this

But do you think its fair for dwarfs/midgets to compete in parlympic powerlifting against people that for example are paralyzed from the waste down just seems abit odd to me when you consider dwarfs and midgets often dominate lower wieght classes in able body comps

Aren't their a load of categories that put similar disabilities together in each class - thus "dwarves" would be unlikely to compete against a normal sized dude who lost his legs ??

Just found this :

All athletes have an impairment in their lower limbs or hips, which would prohibit them to compete in able-bodied weightlifting. For example, athletes with a single or double amputation through or above the ankle or stiffness of the knee joint would be eligible to compete. All eligible athletes compete in one sport class, but in different weight categories just like their able-bodied counterparts in weightlifting.

These dudes are strapped to a long bench - zero arch , zero leg drive (durr) - Rahman is going to try 300kg (allegedly) - which is insane

I think dwarfs often have problem with their bones etc - and bowed legs etc. Maybe he had one of these complications??

I was in the gym last night and watched a dwarf running on the treadmill for 15 mins. it was the most entertaining thing I have seen all week. he got a bit carried away and could barely reach the emergency stop thing at the end, thought he was going to shoot off the back.

Don;t think there's a rule against having an arch. I know what you mean though Dave about dwarves being much stronger for their bodyweight. I was helping a potential dwarf powerlifter when he was aiming to compete in the paralympics, he could do 165 @ 67.5 BW and that wasn't even the required standard

Isn't the coverage for the paralympics being done by Channel 4?
