I can see where you are coming from and agree in a perfect world a quilifier at the beginning of this year would have been good but when it comes to the team gbpf are sending its a very strong team most lifters on it have made large increases on the totals posted which are already strong so should be in for good results

Agree completely. It's a good team and nice to see as many lifters as possibly being given the chance to compete. Hopefully it will be a successful competition and become a regular event.

Suppose it was far out but it just happens to be the way it all came together for the first IPF World Classic. There are no excuses asides injury for not competing at your national though...

I was very lucky to get the chance to go, i was a reserve, only got picked when someone dropped out...

Im going to my first senior comp, which happens to be a worlds with just 750 best total behind me.

Anybody else noticed Istvan Arvai nominated for 870@120, IPF World Champ from 2004 i believe 397.5kg deadlift WR done raw. He has pulled 400kg in the WPC since i think.

I thin it was a good call to pick from last years Brits. Think it should be the way to do it barring outstanding circumstances. Could be expanded it to included home natuion events too.

Manuel has the record at 93kg with 701kg don in Dec IIRC.

It's already on the IPF calendar for 2013 in Russia and 2014 in South Africa.

Mills,

Are them ear holes any bigger than at the CW.

I figure with the IPF strict performance and platform rules the only way they will let you on stage at an international is with Eleiko or Ivanko Discs in them holes...

I'm sure Mike Tuscherer said he was going to do this comp. Shame his name's not on the list - he probably would have won the 120s

Tuch is going based of his website RTS. With a best total of 957.5 behind him at a divisional he competed in... albeit it was at a slightly heavy bodyweight...120.2kg which i think he cut down to...

Yeah I just saw that. He really does seem to be in a league of his own.

I thought he also set some of the standards at the Arnold recently too?

Hopefully the unequipped championships will have loads of competition this year, now that everyone seems aware that it's the qualifier for the classic.

Russians and USA now in.

Some very big, competitive weight classes. (It's interesting comparing them to the BDFPA World Records)
