Does anyone here spend much time doing touch and go deadlifts (not bounce and pull). It seems (from the videos) like most people in here seem to fully reset the bar after each rep.

Does anyone mix up the two styles? And if so, whats your thoughts on this? Answers on a postcard.

I prefer training the deadlift touch and go. It seems to work better for me.

I stop every rep as virtually every comp I do that is how it is done, also my form goes to s**t if I don't reset every time.

I know Benni does a mixture of both and obviously works for him

Touch and go is never in comps (thank f**k...not like some stupid yank comps)...so dont see the point in training it TBH

i thought the point of deadlifts was lifting a dead weight. if it's getting any sort of bounce, it won't be allowed in competition so i don't see the point of touch and go.

I used to get better results tng, now I do top down deads and don't even tough the floor, (sacrilege!) but get even better results

surely the point of training is to get stronger?

When you say you get better results from this what do you mean? Has this method increased your max pull off the floor?

Weightlifters only do Sn and Cjerk in competition, yet they train a lot of ither lifts too...

Like Martin says, you train to get stronger. You then apply that strength in competition. If you have a reason to train TNG deads, crack on.

If lock out is a weakness then I can see t&g helping. But sometimes people lose floor speed !

yeah,

my best (in a suit) was 280, then my training was focussed on top down deads, now my best (again suited) is 300

also seemed to make me FAR better at frame or farmers pick ups etc

Yeah. I've always liked how Andy b trains his deadlifts! Shame can't set that up in our gym !
