I've suffered with a lower back problem since a teenage. Of late I've been very tender in and around the SI joint and have trouble bending and sitting for long periods of time.

I've never beenone for wearing a belt, only thing I tend to use are straps - i know this is probably not to clever and I should use a belt before now.

But, hey ho - better late than never - I'm not a massive lifter (but maybe someday).

What belts would you suggest, been looking at lever belts rather than buckle!

With the lever do you overlap the to ends or should they just meet?

Any help would be greatly appreciated - including possible suppliers!!

Overlapping, never just meeting.

As a lever owner, be warned that you have to unscrew the lever to adjust the belt, so no changing is readliy available if you like the belt looser/tighter for different exercises.

They never seem to have one in stock. Ever.

I used to have a lever belt, and recently swapped to a double prong blt from Strength Shop. Can highly recommend it tbh.

My current belt:

For the first few months it was very stiff and uncomfortable, but now it is a dream to work with. Seems to be in stock, too!

I'd go with Dan Evans suggestion (sorry Dan - this is the first time in about a year I have actually seen one available). Seems like a good belt at a really great price.

I can sympathise with you here. I have a similar problem caused by a car crash a good few years ago and then aggravated by falling from a ladder. I actually ended up with SI joint dysfunction. I use a softer reinforced neoprene belt for lighter lifts and then a double prong for heavier stuff, it seems to work for me.

I've got a Zulu belt and it's a really good belt. Can't fault it at all.
