Agreed!

But going into the gym and saying "yeah i'm gonna hit my flexor carpi radialis, flexor carpi ulnaris and Brachioradialis" usually results in many blank faces and people disliking you Wink

In all seriousness though dwarf, use this time to develop a man-like grip.

Cheers lads and don't worry I have been doing a lot of grip training actually, trying to develop a man grip instead of my pathetic boy grip.

Tuesday 17/1

Trained in the new powerbase gym in Loughborough today. Expected big things from this gym and was very disappointed. It's aesthetically pleasing but has gone so commercial and is not built for performance or strength althletes anymore, it's just bodybuilder heaven.

Anyway the show must go on!

Seated strict military press

Bar x6 (2sets)
60kg x6 (2sets)
70kg x3
80kg x3
85kg x3
90kg x3
85kg x3
80kg x3
70kg x3
60kg x6 (2sets)

BTN strict military

60kg x4
70kg x4 (3sets)

Seated strict lockout

60kg x6
80kg x6
90kg x6 (3sets)

Flat bench press

60kg x6
100kg x3
120kg x1
135kg x3
140kg x3 (2sets)

Decline bench

60kg x6
100kg x6
120kg x6
130kg x6 (2sets)

Incline Bench

60kg x6
100kg x4 (3sets)

Cable crossover (3sets)

Really happy with how my pressing is developing at the moment. Will hopefully transfer to my log, axel and dumbell when I start lifting properly again once my injury has gone.

FIN!

Cheers mate, not sounding big headed but it was quite comfortable. Hoping to get 145 x3 net week and then look at repping 150 before my arse is fixed. And not quite 80k at the min, more like 84/85 Wink

Wednesday 18/1

Thought I better test out all the techno, techno, technogym stuff today. Still can't do any standing exercises so it made sense. Didn't really enjoy, bodybuilding is boring.

Hammerstrength narrow row

worked up to 3 sets of 8 on 110kg of plates

Hammerstrength wide row

worked up to 3 sets of 6 on 120kg of plates

Hammerstrength Pulldown

did 3 working sets of 6 reps on 100kg, 110kg and 120kg of plates

Hammerstregth low row

worked to 3 sets of 6 on 100kg of plates

Pulley machine

45kg x10
70kg x6
80kg x6 (2sets) - this was a bad idea as it hurt my glute so I stopped

Some weird upper back machine

worked up to 70kgx6 (3sets)

Wide grip chins

Bw x10
Bw +10kg x6 (3sets)

Neutral Grip Lat Pulldown

90kg x6
95kg x6
100kg x6

Single arm dumbell row

50kg x6 each arm (3sets)

Then finished with a bit of biceps and alot of ab and core work. FEEL the burn

Not a massive fan of techno technogym, but can't grumble, its better than most get Happy

Monday 23/1

Seated Log Press

Thought with the new gym set up this would work. However with the placings of the pins on the new racks and the sie of the log it was difficult to get any rythem or get the log set properly in order to press it. Then after I had t**tted about with it for about an hour and the given up, I realised I should have just sat the bench inbetween the jerk blocks and done it there. I have now learnt for wednesday. Anyway on with the session.

42kg x5 (2sets)
62kg x5 (2sets)
72kg x3
82kg x3 (2sets)
82kg x1
82kg x3
87kg x3 (2sets)
87kg x1
87kg x3 - as you can see from the amount of times I messed about with it, I couldnt get it set right. with the rack the weights wouldnt fit on and then when I pressed it they were banging into the sides etc. But as said above will do it from jerk blocks on wednesday.

Seated Strict Press

60kg x3
80kg x3
90kg x1 Confused
90kg x3 - no idea what happened above
92.5kg x2 f3

BTN seated srict

60kg x6 (3sets)

Seated Pin Lockouts - eye height

60kg x3
90kg x3
moved up to just over my forehead height to hammer the triceps
100kg x6
110kg x6
120kg x6
60kg x12

Flat Bench Press - normal grip

60kg x3
100kg x3
120kg x1
130kg x3
145kg x3 - Rep PB! (2sets) Very happy to do this and even happier to do it for 2 sets.

Decline Bench

60kg x6
100kg x6 (3sets) had to leave it there coz my triceps were battered

Incline Bench

60kg x6
90kg x6 (3sets)
60kg x10 - Tricep death

Cable Crossover - 3sets

Standing weighted abs - works the core and also a stretch given to me to help my glute by the physio. Everyones a winner baby!

FIN!

BOAR, its almost ready I'm sure. Next week gonna try some standing strict work and some banded squats and see how it feels. Then its game on to get ready and in tip top shape for the season. Also, I liked your post about the Midlands comp, gutted I cant be there. Gonna ask Rob if I can do the southern one though.

Hows your training going then? Looks like its coming back QUICK in your log. Looking forward to seeing the rep machine in action soon.

I dont think I have an option ...im back up north !! In all honesty both are quite good comps for me , but i do like daves approach and general excitment so i would prefer to do the midlands.

Im going into hospital for some minor cutting and interior poking the day befor st.ives ....... i thought it would be ok .....my wife disagreed.
