had a little session today:

rack jerks

up to 3 triples w/ 122....will go to 125 next session and then try a triple at 130

5 triples w/ 100...good times

did some Judo the day before and i will do some Judo tomorrow, weights on Thursday and then who knows

hey

did some judo on Wednesday, about an hours worth of grip fighting and working on foot sweeps.....my f**king hands and forearms felt PUMPED up....gripping my dick for a wank was quite difficult afterwards

i did this session yesterday:

rack jerks

1w/ 70

1w/ 100
1w/ 110
1w/ 120
2 misses at 130.....not happening on this day as i had done some heavy jerks a few days prior

snatch

a few things about his weeks' training......

-the morning workouts.....i am getting used to them...and am getting used to the earlier starts ( i work nights at the moment)....the low energy thing is getting dealt with via caffeine Grin Grin Grin

-the judo isn't affecting my lifting too badly....provided i get some sleep and enough calories...the girl isn't helping, but the trade off for a few kg's versus regular pussy isn't too bad Cool

-as i get my body used to the increase in volume i will be adding a little more work as and when...mainly some conditioning and some Judo specific things

-i am looking into getting more restorative measures into my programme...massage and heat/cold therapy being some ideas.

my routine seems to look like this at the moment:

MON - Judo 90 minutes...some drilling and some randori
TUE - Volume snatching, working on many triples at 80-85kg, heavy rack jerks, and some conditioning and neck work
WED - Judo 60 minutes...randori and lots of it
THUR - SGHP w/ goal snatch weight, pressing, conditioning
FRI - REST.....gonna try some different modalities to see what works best for me
SAT - heavy snatch, rack jerks (tech), box cleans, FSQ....followed by death....the plan is on this dya to eventually add a session of either Judo once i have got my grips and basics down pat or do some BJJ
SUN - REST

this of course is subject to change bec/ of any number of things :-)

the two second rep attempts on each of the 90 kg sets was actually pretty close.....just need to work on a few key pull technique cues, and i also need to work on hitting a rock solid bottom position.....so some snatch balances are in order

box cleans

3w/ 130...5kg PR triple
5 triples w/ 255lbs.....weird plate combo

will proceed with my normal routine come Monday

the snatching here was excellent...really felt solid...will be upping my work weight here to 85 for many doubles.....and then triples

today's session:

strict press

up to

5, 5, 3, 3, 3 w/ 175...first press session in about 2 weeks...pretty solid....all reps were without rest pausing, so i feel good about that

SGHP 5 triples w/ 100kg.....just working a few pull keys like staying over the bar and waiting on the beginning of the second pull....when i do these things i get LOTS of height on the bar

CGHP 3 doubles w/ 150...easy enough, just not a lot of co-ordination...i want to get these feeling nice and smooth...this is my goal weight to hit in a max clean soon(ish)

will rack jerk, press, snatch and box clean on Sat.......

It's not often the judges get it wrong in my experience BUT they probably let a lot go which they shouldn't, certainly in lower level comps. (I'd have never had a jerk passed I don't think if it wasn't for judges sympathy!! Grin)

I hope they get rid of this rule. Tis a stupid one! Anyway man who can actually press out an amount they can jerk overhead deserves to have the lift passed in my books.

Well done on the 85x3 snatch PB as well. Some cracking lifting going on from the looks of it

3w/ 90.....another snatch PR.......i could get quite used to this!......the training cycle goal will be moved towards 95kgx3.....this should defp put me over 100kg in the snatch provided my tech holds up.

box cleans

1w/ 140.....rather pleased with this....ties the most i have ever lifted from the floor...so i think i will be getting 150 from the floor in the next month or two
5 fails w/ 145.....these were rather close.....i had them all on my shoulders but i hadn't quite snapped the bar hard enough for it to stay there.
5 triples w/ 120.....easy enough

will bump this up to 125 or better for 5 triples and then have another shot at a new PR.

will lift in a few days

Good session....tired from 2 great sessions in a row though.....will be building this to 5 triples at this weight...this will be a good point at which to try a new PR methinks

Jerks

Up to 2w/ 125

i think i am at a bit of a loss as to what to do here...i did 122x3x3 before the comp and that was very easy...now i can barely do a double w/ 125...not good....will do what i have done with the snatch and that is to do the lift or a close variant 3 x/week with varying loads and go from there.

also,
been pondering my lifting /martial arts/life goals for 2012, and have happened on the following:

lifting:
-snatch BW
-improve OL total to the mid 500lbs bracket
-compete some more

martial arts
-get my orange or green belt in Judo
-maybe get my blue belt in BJJ or be well on the way to it (this is pretty ambitious)
-compete in one or more Judo and BJJ comps

life
-be well on my way to having my UK pharmacy credentials recognised in the US

misc
-get a motorbike
-become a proficient marksman with a few different firearms
-more ink

The problem with this lift has been the lack of reps.....so I will be doing more.....simples

well...the truck will be pricey to fix...but such is life...i iwlll have to put buying my S and W 500 on hold for a bit so i can get the truck fixed

I did an hour of technical stuff at jUDO ON wEDNESDAY and did this yesterday:

rack jerks

up to 6 triples w/ 115.....next session will be a PR of sorts, the best i have ever done with 117 is 5 triples.....aiming for 5-6 triples w/ 122.5 and a shot at 130-135x3 in a few weeks

SGHP

5 triples w/ 105.....nice and easy

conditioning

hitting a tire w/ a sledgehammer for 10 minutes...hard work for the hands and forearms more than anything else....will keep this in the rotation along with tire flipping, KB work, prowler stuff and farmers for my Judo and BJJ conditioning stuff

will do some box cleans, heavy snatch and lots of Judo on Saturday....

PS - sorry Ed, came across as a complete dick there.....thanks for the comments

The OL is going very well at the moment....the plan is to hit PRs in the lifts before my 30th on the 8th of March, and make them official in April at a comp...i think 100/135-140 should go fairly well....i always jerk better if i clean before hand, and the snatch is being very conservative.

the other things are just to do with work and other hobbies....should hit my first Judo grading in or around April, along with a comp or two and the BJJ grading thing is just at the instructor's discretion, so no biggie

the firearms thing is more for home defense and such as i have had my car broken into and i would like to know how to use a gun properly should the need arise....

well, the bike is because i am dying to shred some rubber...f**k me, it has been a while since i have been able to go fast and i miss it Unhappy Unhappy Unhappy
