Im doing a keto diet at the minute and feel alot better training than i do when i have carbs.

I was thinking if it is possible when i have cut the weight to stay in ketosis and up my calories to gain muscle and strength or do i need carbs.

Has anybody tried this

This has been talked about a few times recently. Most people seem to perform better in training when carbs are consumed, but others have a load of energy when in keto.

When looking to cut calories (and get leaner) I find it easier to eat low-carb - its far more satisfying for me.

Actually, can I ask why you have chosen to use a keto diet to bulk up? If you are eating an excess of calories you're not really going to get any fat burning going on, are you? Or are you?

do you have carb day or dont you bother with them iv read it can take 3-4 days to get back in to ketosis so thinking of doing a carb day every 10 or 14 days insted of every 7 days. What do you find best?

There's a book i read .. Really struggling to remember the name!

It was a years diet for a bodybuilder - constantly in keto, the idea behind bulking on it was that insulin was none existent due to no carbs so it was very hard / impossible to get fat whilst eating an excess calories from protien / fats ..

What do people eat on Keto diets? I tried it for a bit (more low carb than keto) and it was boring as f**k

simple answer mate - meat and veg.......... Grin

I function better on high protein less carbs. Not everyones cup of tea but works for me. Think training to put size on may be harder as workouts are more intense for longer periods for anything other than strength training.

Meat and veg sounds bland, boring and dry!
