I personaly think the blame would have to stay with the lifter, after all its there responsability to make sure there clean if there sport states that its drug free. Why blame others for the actions of one member.

Hypothetically, I believe the GBPF would be liable to pay any fine and it would then claim it back off the lifter, plus any costs associated with the claim. But don't take that as gospel, just my understanding of things.

i reckon if anyone get caught for positive PED test results they should have a life ban. or is this already the rules in the GBPF? it is kinda the point in lifting in a drug tested fed i would of thought. so that you know everyone is clean and on a level playing field.

I would assume that the theoretical lifter would only have a direct legal relationship to the gbpf as he would not have directly signed an agreement with the ipf. the ipf fine would be dished out to gbpf and then gbpf would try to get the lifter to reimburse them. whether they could lawfully do this or not is purely down to the membership or competition agreement that was in place between the gbpf and the lifter. if the lifter failed to pay then it's a trip to the small claims court.

from the looks of the gbpf rules the lifter is not liable for any costs of drugs tests, check the competition entry form.

I would really like to agree with this, but in my opinion unfortunately sport is never on a level playing field whether it is due to facilities available to athletes, peds, funding, rewards, incentives, coaching available etc.

i agree so change that last sentecne to *as many ppl as possible are clean and on as clean a playing field as is possible.

whats the plan with the ipf classic is a team being formed for it and training sessions or just people get called up nearer the time

I would love to give this classic a shot. The one you are referring to , is it taking place in sweden. When will qualifying take place ?

Maybe I'm a little naive here, but PL'ing has a multitude of feds to lift in - tested and untested. Why would a drug-enhanced athlete compete in a tested fed?

In a perfect world, they would lift in the un-tested fed.

GBPF International lifters should sign an agreement to pay any IPF fines incurred.
