I will be entering this - barring injuries or other training disasters. Just enough time to get things back on track...

There are several reasons I'm thinking I probably won't. One is just that I'm not hugely sure, at the moment, that I want to - I just don't feel ready for a proper comp yet.

The other, more important one, is that an upcoming comp would be a great reason to delay dieting. I need to stop giving myself reasons. I'm a fat f**k, and that needs to change.

Sore knees are always going to be a problem for a raw meet, but you can take it easy on the squat and concentrate on your bench and deadlift.

As for Rick - not ready yet and too fat - this is no excuse. If you want to be good you should start competing as soon as possible. I have met guys that think that they are going to train until they have a really big total and then compete and set the PL world on fire - it does not happen they generally never compete. In PL you have to train to get stronger and you have to lift to get better.

As for the dieting - most elite lifters in a weight class will be dieting when they do a comp. If you are overweight it is possible to get stronger and lose weight at the same time.

So - strap on a pair and get training!
