I'm just looking for a bit of form critique really, I've made decent progress on my squats recently, but do these reps look a little slow to anyone? Time to drop the weight 10% maybe?

Thanks.

They're maybe a bit too deep if anything. Good though.

I've got to be honest mate, I think you come across as keen, but a bit of a plank in some of the things you post and ask. So I wasn't really expecting much from this video.

That being said, I'm never afraid to speak my mind, and to be honest you surprised me with these squats mate. Buried into the floor, quite smooth, looked strong. Looked a little ragged around the edges on a couple of reps, but presumably it's a 5RM, so understandable.

Fair play buddy, well done.

The progress you've made from just working your balls off has been extremely impressive mate, isn't that your 1RM from a month ago? Crazy!

I've tried low bar squat before but the bar placement feels far too awkward, maybe I'm just inflexible though..

depth was good you just need to build up your upper back strength and even lower back to keep that arch in your back and work on keeping tighter throughout the movment somtimes cutting your depth abit will help you keep tight a good squat starts at your head and ends at your toes everything has to be in the right polace at the right time the drop and drive technique will only get you so far found that out myself

bet you felt it in your mid/lower back on that last rep ?

Whats the best way to build back strength that translates well into squatting? Good mornings?

I've been focusing on keeping a lot tighter in my squats since my last form check, I even tried a belt but found it more of a hinderence if anything. Yep, more like the last 2 reps actually but I wanted them pretty bad!

personaaly i like to do

pendly rows

snatch grip heavy rack pulls with the shoulder blades pinched together and held throughout the movment

DB shrugs but dont pull your shoulders towards your ears pull them up and back when you squeeze at the top this is what you want your traps to be like during a squat

close grip seated row pulling towards the belly button keeping arch in the lower back

in other words whenever you lift keep the arch in your lower back

Good high bar squats. Good depth, and good work on nailing them all.

Just keep your upper back tighter and arch your lower back harder.
