Cheers Ben

Yeah things went pretty well yest. Improvements are defo there in some events so comp will give me idea of what to work on for future.

Farmers luckily seems to be an event that works for me, pick up and foot speed felt much better than previous sessions Happy

Salt Ayre Classic

Arrived 1st thing thinking I would fail the 105 weigh in, 104.5kg, awesome, no sauna etc Happy

LOG LIFT

Was s**tting myself for this event, was going to start with 80kg but warm up on the 70kg felt god awful so went for 70kg opener.
70kg - good lift, this shot up
80kg - good lift and also went up easily
90kg - went up, just!! Was lucky and glad I got the good lift for this one after my usual 1/2 rep followed by a full rep Roll-Eyes

Joint Pb - need to work on using legs, everything was just pressed

FARMERS

One of my better events, went ok on the 130kg excdept:-
start - got over excited and set off before completing pick up and dropped it after 30cm Embarassed
finish - the next 19.7m went ok but was too busy looking for the finish line so when looking down went flying forwards after going over the line, but i'm gonna class it as a celebration leap Tongue
Time 14.4 seconds(ish), would have been 12-13 if pick up was better, we live and learn so improvements to be made.

DEADLIFT
Was on my own for this, aim was double figures and got 13 so happy with that. Maybe should have listened to Ben and given the 240kg a bash as may have got a rep or 2 on this set up.
Nevermind was still happy with 13.

YOKE

230kg, no idea of time other than slow, did finish it but it was awful and ugly. I hate that event and is the only performance of the day I can say i'm not happy with. Unhappy

MEDLEY

This was event that could be good or bad, decided to go for the biggest bag and see where I was at after it. Got it well and did 105, 95 and 75 in that order.
Really happy I finished it as failed 105 after 110 at training week before.
Did it in 61secs which was the lead for a few mins Grin , but think I may have got top 10 for this event Grin Grin

Overall position 18th, top 30 was the aim as it was my fist comp so top 20 was awesome so very happy with it. Things to improve for future comps but it is the kickup then arse I needed to work hard over the winter!!!!!!

Just want to repeat the thanks I put on the Salt Ayre comp thread to Ben for a great comp, Bryce for good scoring job, to the loaders and refs for the tips/encouragement and making the comp run smoothly and to everyone else who supported all the athletes and made the whole comp an awesome experience!!

Hopefully get round to adding vids of events soon, including the celebration leap!!

Well done yesterday mate, looked solid on everything and sweet work on the sandbags. You'll be hitting 100kg on that log pretty soon, plenty of time to get the reps in now.

Cheers ben, have to admit the sandbags went pretty darn well, shocked myself how well the 110kg went and I was sorted from then on really Happy

Yeah would love a 100kg log, think i'll be doing plenty of reps at 80kg to get tekkers right. Can't 1.5 rep everytime I try 90kg Grin

Did exactly what you should of yesterday which is awsome trust me! Easy to f**k something up on the day! Brilliant sandbags and those farmers were rapid! I did think you'd died though ha ha

Cheers mate, was happy there was no major f**ks up on the day.

Was a bit of a schoolboy error on the farmers, watched the video a few times now and its pretty funny Grin
