hoponbaby said:Hi Buzz, do you have a picture of the competition kettlebells? I need another 16kg..oh and are they steel instead of cast ?..

We don't have any photos at the moment I'm afraid. They'll be steel rather than cast though.

Not sure at the moment. Off the top of my head about £29.99 for the collars, and £159 for the chain and collars set (2x5kg 1m and 2x2m 20kg).

Hey Buzz,

I bought an olympic bar (http://www.strengthshop.co.uk/equipment-and-bars/bars/olympic-... from you a while back, maybe 2 months (tidy looking bit of kit I might add!), and have had some cracking sessions with it since.

Today I did some deads on it though, 215 for 4, and upon inspection after the set it's bent!

I'm not sure if I've exceeded the weight capacity on it? Checking the website I think it says it's rated to 1500lbs? I know that's a static test but I'd have thought I was still nowhere near to breaking it?

What kind of weights should it be able to handle?

Rated to 1500lbs. It's essentially a WL bar, we generally wouldn't recommend going above about 250kg on it, but deadlifts with 215 on should be fine. You're talking about pulls from the floor? And are you sure it was the deadlifts that bent it? Best if you can email us about it, send some photos etc strengthshop@gmail.com

Yeh, just standard deads from the floor, I've squatted 215 with it as well but doubt that would be any worse?

I'll email you with pictures on saturday after the next time i'm in.

Squatting is more likely to potentially bend, but not with that weight. Is it in a gym?

I keep it in a school gym which I supervise. I'm the only one in there who ever puts on more than 140, unless one of my year 9s is doing 300kg Deads when I'm not looking :O

I'm not doubting you, but I honestly don't think it'd be the deads that bent it. The weight on the bar isn't the factor, but if a bar's used for rack pulls, dropped badly, or left with any weight on it (even like 5kg a side) for any length of time it would bend it.

It's a funny one then, I lock the bar away after every session, vertically in a weights tree in a seperate room so only the little club I run or me can use it and I don't do any rack pulls (you can check my training log if you like!) Confused The biggest thing I've ever had on it was 220, that was a double set a couple of weeks ago?

Sadlly I can't get anywhere near justifying loading 250 on it at the mo Unhappy

Stuff arrived today Buzz, mega quick as usual thanks.

After all that faffing though the suit is not tight enough haha, so I'd best try the XXL. How do I go about swapsying?

Is the bar never used when you're not there? Even 250 would not bend it, not deadlifting, it's just a rough guideline really.

No probs man, send it back to us within 7 days of receipt, in original packaging, and include a note with your name and what you want to change it for.
