You sir, are obscenely strong. I love the fact that playing around for you includes benching 210kg and 160kg for 11. Awesome strength and all the best for your next comp.

Interesting to catch up on your log. I must say that some of the results from the Naturals' surprised me - including yours. Having competed against him, I was also surprised to see that Emil didn't place higher.

I'd like to add a few thoughts based on what I've read but also my own experiences with competitions which, as you doubtless know, have been very up and down.

My advice - which you are welcome to take or reject - is:

1. Don't quit on Strongman based on one poor comp. At the end of the day, SM is a crazy sport with a lot of variables and there is never a sure thing (even if you are a genetic freak like Shaw or Hollands). However, there is always something to be learnt that will help you to narrow the odds.

2. Have a crack at some unequipped P/L by all means - there is probably a lot to be learnt from it - but set out your long-term plan now. Don't put what you need to do on the back burner.

3. The main area that will help you narrow the odds next year will be better conditioning. I'm sure you know it. But it's a hard thing to balance with strength training.

I don't know what cardio/conditioning you do now, so I wouldn't like to preach, but I feel this is where you can make the most improvements. Your strength is there, it is just a matter of making some adjustments and, as I said, narrowing the odds.
