Reasonable session, didn't push things too much as planning events session on Sun at Salt Ayre. Want to be fairly fresh for that.

Not a great session really, felt knee a bit again so backed off. Pretty pissed off as squats traditionally has been my best exercise but has been nothing short of s**t for last few weeks. Angry

Ah well, just gonna have to back off until knee sorted, just have to take it as it comes.

First ever Strongman events session at Salt Ayre.

Firstly would like to thank Ben for providing these sessions and also thanks to the other guys shane, rico and jim for helping me out and shouting encouragement, so cheers for that lads.

Log Press
50kg
60kg
70kg, happy to get this as its the lowest poss weight at Salt Ayre Classic
80kg
85kg
90kg PB,Happy
95kg, failed at this twice, just struggled to get legs and arms in sync. I think with better technique this is certainly doable.

Farmers
60kg x 40m (20m then back 20m)
112kg x 20m, 20-30 secs rest then 20m back
132kg x 11m (ish), grip went and tore callous off hand.
Happy with this, choice of 100 or 130 for the day, may go for 130 as only 10m is needed for decent points.

Yoke
130kg x 40m (20m then back 20m), found this weird, once got position on back correct was pretty good in the end.
230kg x 20m
310kg x 5m, damn this was tough, not used to it and found legs were too close together, needed wider stance and thats what got me a few metres). This again will come I think with time.

Loading medley (to 4ft)
70kg sandbag
80kg sandbag
95kg barrel
105kg(ish??) almost

had a second attempt at this

115kg sandbag, almost, was a few inches away but just couldn't quite make it.

All in all i'm really happy with this session, it shows the events are doable and in some cases the medium weights instead of lighter. sommet to work on.

That first medley was a bas***d, can't beat a 10-20sec stalemate with a barrel only to lose in the end Roll-Eyes

Was a bit optimistic going for the bech at the time, but felt ok so thought why not? Hopefully it will go in the next couple of weeks!!

Was good first session, definitely gives me an idea of both the tactics (especially the medley!!) and what I need to train.
Then have another bash at a session and see where i'm at.

Stiff as a stiff thing after first events session at Salt Ayre so just did some cardio yesterday.

25mins steady on x-trainer
3 sets of 20 weights crunches on body by jake machine
10 mins on x-trainer

Light session, have to say feel better for it, did some foam rolling and stretches afterwards.

Have to admit was not up for this session as it was done first thing on empty stomach except a cup of coffee due to time before work.

Narrow Neutral Grip Pulldown

80kg x 10 bit of body english on last couple of reps

Neutral Grip Overhead DB Seated Press
30lbs x 10
40lbs x 10
50lbs x 10
60lbs x 10

Have to say fairly happy with session. Was really not up for it this morning and fronties felt tough at start then got easier for a major Pb, previous Pb was 120kg x 2!! Elbow a bit iffy but felt ok on pulldowns so gave presses a go, but did not push it.
