Shame about your spotter man..I have come to realise that a decent partner (spotter) is so important when you are at your limits, they should just know when to let you fight the bar. Do you have a steady training partner bud? Happy

At uni I don't have a fixed training partner, but its a friendly atmosphere so there's (normally) someone i've spoken to before who can spot me properly.

when i'm home i have a training partner half the time, but he's not that experienced lol

I think someone needs to invent a set of cables that dangle from the ceiling to the bar on bench press. when it detects the bar moving downwards, it takes the tension Happy

Trained at "The Gym" in Hounslow today with a mate, I wasn't too keen on the place, it was massive yet only had DB's up to 30 kg, and ~220 kg of weight plates for 3 bars and a smith.

Overhead Press:

42.5 kg x 5
52.5 kg x 5
62.5 kg x 5

70 kg x 5 (paused) + 1 Push Press PB http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k18n9sZ5oQY

Rep 5 was a bas***d, had to lean back and everything to get it up, that said I have had tougher reps.

Clean and Push press because i felt like it:

70 kg x 1 (PB)

Squats:

62.5 kg x 5
80 kg x 5
92.5 kg x 5
92.5 kg x 5

Deadlifts:

60 kg x 5
100 kg x 5
135 kg x 4

165 kg x 7 PB http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeqP1Q789VU

180 kg x 1 PB
190 kg x 1 PB

Was pleased with the workset and even more pleased with my easy pull on 180. 190 went up pretty easily too, I feel confident in saying that 200 is there, but I would have had to wait ages for plates to be free so left it for another day!

DB shoulder press:

30 kg x 10/10/9

Perpendicular pull ups:

BW x 15/14/10 or something

Good session!

Trained in the afternoon with a different mate in a new gym thats just opened.

Bench:

52.5 kg x 8
65 kg x 5
77.5 kg x 5
90 kg x 5

105 kg x 3 PB (spotter may have touched the bar just before i reached complete lock out, but i had it easy)
77.5 kg x 8

Squat:

62.5 kg x 5
77.5 kg x 5
92.5 kg x 5
107.5 kg x 5

125 kg x 3 (PB) Easy
92.kg x 20 (PB) Not so easy, but I could have hit 23 i'd say

One arm deadlift for fun:

100 kg x 1
110 kg x Fail

Pendlay Row:

50 kg x 5
60 kg x 5
70 kg x 5

80 kg x 3 Easy
60 kg x 6

For some reason I forgot it was 82.5 kg not 80 today.

One arm DB push press:

RHS: 48 kg x 1 (PB)
LHS: 48 kg x Fail Twice

After seeing Big Loz do a 118 kg DB on Sunday, I could hardly be allowed to fail this puny weight!

Dips:

BW + 30 kg x 7
BW + 20 kg x 8
BW + 20 kg x 7

Wide grip pull ups:

BW x 9
BW x 6

Wasn't feeling these today and the equipment was awkward so stopped it there

Seated hammer curls:

18 kg x 8
16 kg x 8

Barbell curl:

45 kg x 6
35 kg x 8

Not a bad session, feeling stronger than I ever have in my life at the moment.

Got home and my parents gave me a lecture about how overweight i am and that i'm going to get diabetes from all my over eating. Am going to see a doctor next week to apppease the parents, but I reckon he's going to say I need to lose weight..

EDIT: LOL at which ever mod changed my profile picture, I quite like it

Bench Press:

52.5 kg x 5
65 kg x 5
77.5 kg x 5
90 kg x 5

102.5 kg x 5 + Failed rep 6 (PB)

I decided against going for 105 today, and kept it at 102.5, went up fairly easily

Squat:

62.5 kg x 5
77.5 kg x 5
95 kg x 5
110 kg x 5

125 kg x 5 PB

Rep 5 was a grinder, but i kept good form for once

Pendlay Row:

42.5 kg x 5
52.5 kg x 5
62.5 kg x 5
72.5 kg x 5

82.5 kg x 5 - Hard

DB Bench:

42.5 kg x 8 - Pleased with this

Wide grip pull ups:

BW x 13,9,6,6,5

Hyper extensions:

+ 10 kg x 3 sets of 10

Good session

Overhead Press:

45 kg x 5
55 kg x 5
62.5 kg x 5

72.5 kg x 4 (Didn't even attempt rep 5)(PB)

40 kg x 8 Back off set

Even the first rep felt heavy, rep 2 and 3 were a little easier for some reason. Rep 4 was a grinder, no way i could do rep 5- still a PB though.

Squats:

62.5 kg x 5
77.5 kg x 5
95 kg x 5
95 kg x 5

Deadlifts:

50 kg x 7
100 kg x 5
140 kg x 3

170 kg x 5- Failed rep 6 (PB)

The liquid chalk i used today wasn't quite the equal of my friends proper chalk I used last week, i was hoping for more than 5 reps, but this is good enough to progress.

Seated DB shoulder press:

35 kg x 8
35 kg x 6 or 7
35 kg x 7 (with a spotter)

shoulder press machine:

whole stack x 1 rep

pull ups:

bw x 15,10,10

EZ bar + 10 kg each side for one set of 21's quite easy

EZ bar + 11.25 kg each side x 10 reps of curls

went with my housemate today, gave him his first gym session

Bench:

52.5 kg x 5
65 kg x 5
80 kg x 5
92.5 kg x 5

107.5 kg x 3 Easy PB
80 kg x 8

Squat:

65 kg x 5
77.5 kg x 5
95 kg x 5
110 kg x 5

127.5 kg x 3 Hard PB
95 kg x 20 Hard

Pendlay Row:

40 kg x 5
52.5 kg x 5
62.5 kg x 5
72.5 kg x 5

85 kg x 3 Not too bad
62.5 kg x 8

Dips:

+30 kg x 7 (grinder)
+30 kg x 5 (grinder)

DB one arm push press:

17.5 kg x 3 each arm strict
37.5 kg x 1 each arm
45 kg x 1 each arm (easy)

RHS&LHS: 2 attempts each side on 50 kg DB (epic fail)

There was just no leg drive after the 20 rep squats, not even close

Wide pull ups:

BW x 14

21's barbell curl:

1 set on 11.25 kg each side done strictly, but hard

Decent session, I've also decided that after spendng 6 months at around 95 kg I'm going to be taking eating a little more aggresivly to push my bodyweight to the 100 kg mark by october hopefully. This should keep my strength increasing

Bench Press:

52.5 kg x 5
65 kg x 5
80 kg x 5
92.5 kg x 5

105 kg x 4 (failed rep 5) PB

rep 4 was tough, knew there was no way i'd succeed on rep 5

Squat:

65 kg x 5
80 kg x 5
95 kg x 5
112.5 kg x 5

127.5 kg x 5 (PB)

Rep 5 was a bit of a grind, but I was pleased with this as I didn't think I'd manage it today.

Pendlay Row:

50 kg x 5
62.5 kg x 5
75 kg x 5

85 kg x 3 (Failed to touch the chest on rep 4 and rep 5)

Kept a strict form today on rows, first time I've been unable to get the reps.

DB Bench Press:

45 kg x 6 wobbly reps

Will redo this weight next week, I think I looked like an idiot

Clean and Push Press:

75 kg x 1 (easy PB)

Wide grip pull ups:

BW x 14,9,6,6

Hyperextensions:

20 kg x 3 sets of 10

Seated incline DB curls:

20 kg x 6, 20 kg x 5

Wasn't expecting to get the 105 x 5 bench today anyway, but I'm looking forward to doing 130 kg x 5 squat next Monday. Will also try for 140 kg x 1 after

Went out last night, didn't drink much but only slept from 4am-9am with training at 3pm.

Overhead Press:

40 kg x 5
50 kg x 5
60 kg x 5 (Manhandled)

72.5 kg x 5 PB

Atrocious form on the final set, no attempt at a pause between reps, I just went ape s**t until i got 5. Staggered backwards on rep 3 as well which isn't good. May re-attempt this week next week, or possible switch programming on the press to triples.

Squats:

60 kg x 5
80 kg x 5
95 kg x 5
95 kg x 5

Not as easy as they should have been

Deadlifts:

70 kg x 5
110 kg x 4
140 kg x 2 (double overhand)
170 kg x 1 (mixed grip)

200 kg x 1 (chalk mixed grip) PB

I was very pleased with 200, but it was a grinder, got it off the floor an inch, and then i really had to put my back in to it for the next 18 inches, then it was plain sailing till lockout.

Work set:

175 kg x 2 (wtf)

The rep max attempt earlier must have taken it out of me, I was quite shocked though.

Seated DB shoulder press:

35 kg x 8
35 kg x 7
35 kg x 5

Exactly the same as last week

Perpendicular pull ups:

+15 kg x 10
+15 kg x 7
+15 kg x 5
