Yeah I had a good time. I was too skint to get through to the palace unfortunately so just walked up to the climbing wall and roped up. Glad you had a peaceful session haha. I'm lucky that I don't lift enough weight to merit needing any attention yet.

Climbing is ace fun! I feel like it mixes things up a bit in training and balances out all of the wee weaknesses I have. Love the sport even though I'm scared of heights.

Had an hour to kill so made a bow and arrow for the zombie apocalypse. LOL at the s**tty bamboo arrow with a stone tied to the top with string and no flights.

Thanks guys. Yeah the bow is pretty good fun. It's got about 35lbs of draw on it so it's more than powerful enough to punch through what I'm shooting it at Happy

Never slept last night cuz I was too busy obsessing over hot anime characters until 9:30am as well as almost successfully scamming about £300 quid off of Zavvi.com.
I then slept until about 3 when I got up and run to the station for training.

SQUATS
1 set of 6 reps with 117.5kg PB?? (f**kin' beautiful!) I have no idea id it's a rep PB or not but I think it's one??
1 single with 132.5kg
1 single with 140kg (felt pretty nice)

BENCH
1 set of 8 reps and a fail on the 9th rep with 90kg =REP PB
1 set of 3 reps with 100kg =REP PB

JERKS (form is coming on under Craigs coaching)
millions with 70kg
millions with 80kg
JERKS from back on BLOCKS
a few with 50kg
a few with 70kg
doubles and triples with 80kg
a few with 70kg

WIDE GRIP CHINS
4 easy sets of 5 reps

CONCLUSION
Squats felt very nice today. My asshole kissed the floor on each and every rep and the reps came up nice and smooth.
Bench was reasonable. Breathing was a little out like last week banging out those reps.
Jerks are fun and I added a new method to my training, jerks off of my back from the blocks. Getting there Happy

Well done on the squat pb mate, reckon if you up the volume on that weight you will smash through 160, bench is also going well, you seemed pissed at hitting same as last session, bear in mind bench progress is hit and miss and slower to progress it will come though!

3 reps on a hundred is good, Im surprised your 1 rep max isnt higher. If you keep doing that it wont be long before is though..

Also loving the bow and arrow action. The best homemade weapon I ever made was a french banger cannon out of a piece of copper piping and a marble as the projectile.

Yeah I bought s**tloads of wrongly priced stuff from them but they noticed it before they sent out the stuff and gave me s**tty vouchers instead.
The 6 rep PB is a hard rep PB!

Reevesy. I'd absolutely love a new 1 rep PB just now. I'll be trying soon.

Ross. Thanks for the congrats Happy I'm really hoping to get a 160 but to be honest I'm, not feeling all that great with squats just now. I'll keep plugging at it though and hopefully break through.

Tim, Thanks. Yeah when I was trying my 1 rep maxes I was confused as to why I couldn't budge the 107.5 I think it was. All in good time though Happy
I made one of those cannons once. I used oxyacetylene in a bit of copper tubing and it worked an absolute treat!

Tun. I'm hoping to see a new PB too. I'm gonna keep going until my bench starts to stagnate and then hopefully nail a 107.5 or 110 bench.




DEADLIFTS
1 set of 3 reps with 170. (Maxed out at 4 reps last week)

CLEANS Tutored by Craig again
2 reps with 40kg
2 reps with 50kg
2 reps with 60kg
2 singles with 70kg
2 singles with 80kg

CLEANS TECHNIQUE
Worked my technique and improved it a lot with 60kg. Bar now travelling straighter upwards. Much better shrug portion. Felt very clean!(pardon the pun)

OVERHEAD SQUATS Lifting off from bottom position.
4 reps with 20kg
4 reps with 30kg
3 reps with 50kg
2 or 3 reps with 60kg
2 singles with 70kg
2 fails with 80kg (lifted off fine though)

BENCHPRESS
3 sets of 4 reps with 90kg VOLUME REP PB (nice and easy)

WIDE GRIP CHINS
3 sets of 5 reps
10KG WEIGHTED WIDE GRIP CHINS
1 set of 3? reps
10kg WEIGHTED UNDERHAND CHINS
1 set of 4 reps

22.5kg DUMBELL JUMP SQUATS
3 sets of 5 reps

CONCLUSION
Deadlifts didn't go very well so on the advice of Ross Harkins I'm dropping down to 155kg or 160kg and will go for 5 sets of 5 reps next week.
I'm really enjoying this Olympic lark. Great fun!
Had a MCDONALDS PB after training which was nice as f**k. VERY tired now though. I worked hard today with minimal rest.I was sweating like a proper beast throughout.

You did work hard mate, wot I meant was over the next few weeks build up to 5x5 with 155-160, wot to do is week 1 go for 5 doubles, week 3 5 triples and so on until you get 5x5 in week 4, if you can do that you will undoubtedly smash 190 maybe even 200, the way forward is to build the volume, start it easy, and this is a good target well within your reach, you will be working hard at 80%toward the end.

Liking the push presses, jerks and overhead squats, would like to fit them in on Thursdays when I return to front squatting again, back is getting better, to be honest only siezes up when getting out of bed or in my job sitting down all day, keeping on the move seems to help, maybe see you saturday mate.
