Set your feet as though you were about to jump in the air. no dip at all really.

you could do with someone showing you this move I think mate, that would be easier. I am no expert, and my push presses are more like push jerks actually...

also, I dont know about everyone else but I start with the weight sat on my chest

Yeah i'm trying to wean myself off the gloves, I only use them for pushing movements, deadlifts, rows, pull ups i do without gloves. You think I need to have my feet closer together then for the jump into the air instead of a dip?

i heard you should use the same grip for overhead as bench press, so thats what i'm doing...

although having watched the video i can admit my grip does look a little wide

I've seen a lot of people recommending benching with your pressing grip, but have never seen anyone say that you should press with your bench press grip, they are not one and the same.

No. I think you should set your feet in the same position you would if you were doing a box jump, then plant them, and keep them there.... dont jump in a push press

yeah i currently do sets of 5 on strict press, maybe i'll stick in a back off set of 10 strict in future.
Also doing seated DB work in the 8 rep range at the moment, but thanks anyway

You dont need back off sets. You need to learn to lift with the right motor patterns and to iron out your strength imbalances.

This doesnt happen in a session or a week or often even in a month. Do what I said 3x a week for 6-8 weeks, it will work. Dont worry about the weight that you are lifting, worry about every rep of every set being perfect. Add weight where you can.

Simples.

i use this and i'm a wide big c**t, for you go narrower and as Oly said do plenty strict work in at much lower weight working on your tekkers (Wink) and building your strength up. especially control the weight going up and down and making sure your body stays tight through the movement. this is just my opinion

What to do re the gloves is just throw them away. It's a special russian faster wean training system

Im fairly sure that wearing gloves in the gym is worse than equal PBs and can cause cancer.

Great vid though and solid advice

For my grip I have my hands a thumbs length away from where the knurling ends (the same grip I use for cgbp)

I've always been told that the optimal grip for shoulder health is hands just outside of shoulders, no idea how much truth there is in that.

You know that video you posted? Have you actually bothered to watch it yourself? It's a clusterf**k of an attempt at a push press.

Just keep doing what you're doing mate it's not like you have any intention of taking on board any of our advice anyway.
