You are a man beast mate, you competed in the strongman and then powerlifting the day after. You looked strong on every lift!! I looked like a domestic cat standing next to a lion in our after party celebration pics!!! LOL

true power is on the inside though chris!

glad you have your place in this - and also gutted because as ben has also mentioned your taking points off us lol

Never seen you lift yet in person so this will be an experience for me!

good luck chris, hope you do well mate, you looked bigger and stronger than iv ever seen you in training down at ross`s the other week. cant be far off 16 stone now. good to see your over head pressing was strong aswell, you made 125kg log look easy. keep up the hard work and try keep the weight on and i can see a top three position for you mate. all the best m8, hope you kick some arse in scotland!!!!!!!!

too bad richard is not doing it,hes been looking really strong, much stronger than he was before he did the welsh and i think the events would have suited him, i think he would have been capable of a top 3 finish but due to personal reasons he's pulled out.

right guys it is exactly 2 months to go for the ultimate 105 challenge
BSM under 105kg 2011

the last of the qualifers was at the weekend so please take note of the final athletes list. i am sure you will agree that you wont get a better line up of talented athletes to battle it out for the title

a few changes to take note
1. Paul Woods has turned down the oppertunity to compete due to injury, i discussed this with Terry at NEC so i would like to take this oppertunity to wish Woodie all the best and we are gutted he wont make it up

2. Craig Callahan (2009) Scottish Champion has declined his place in final suggesting that Nick Foxall who he beat on countback was the better athlete to reperesent Scotland and wished him all the best for final

3. We lost one welsh dragon in tony but another has taken on the challenge in Chris Jenkins, so we wish him all the best of luck

4. Can any promoter or athlete please contact me with any changes to qualifed athletes as soon as they hear of anything, i would like to offer my moblie number 07855443202 as well as a PM on here as a form of communication to any of the athletes with questions or arranging any testing sessions of equipment

5. and last thank you very much to all 6 promoters for all their help arranging what should be a great comp to show the true strength of 105kg atheltes in Britain
JC
Matt
JT
ROB
Nick
the 105kg atheltes of Britain should tipp their hats to you guys Grin Grin

Hi Andy,

Would it be possible to change the info on the competitors Welsh as we have an error in the listings. Richard Lewis has pulled out making way for Chris Jenkins but there is currently no Anthony Griffiths. Can he replace Richard Lewis please

Representing Wales
10. Simon Thomas
11. Anthony Griffiths
12. Chis Jenkins

Thanks in advance

Cheers

I want to raise the issue of axle belt cleans sooner rather than later. The reason for this is that there seems to be no real strict opinion on them,i was watching a few international comps and. saw that some times they are still allowed.
I don't want the athletes training a particular way and then being suprised on the day.
My own personal opinion is that i DO NOT want to allow belt cleans of any kind. However i feel that my role as referee is not to make up the rules but to enforce them once agreed on.Therefore, could i please get some of the 105s competing views on this.
It is my intention to run the comp with belt cleans of any kind being disallowed unless the majority of competitors prefare otherwise.
I have also posted this as a general question to all and would welcome feedback from any one.Thank you.

I answered in the other thread, but personally I think belt cleans should be allowed a) because if someone wears a belt and it touches at some point there can be dispute, b) because virtually al the 105 guys have no belly to rest the bar on, and c) because I saw a vid recently where it looked suspiciously like a guy had a belt on under his t-shirt anyway!

I will of course train it according to your decision (when shoulder is a bit better!) and won't b**ch about it either way!

EDIT: I would certainly be keen to know what the other guys think as you say you would change it if the majority were in favour.
