Weighed 290lbs empty of food and poop today, feeling strong, feeling fresh, getting excited for monday now!

Just the small matter of squats and bench tomorrow and possibly a few cleans and stretching on saturday to get out of the way...

Oh, and a sack of oats that I've got my eye on Grin

Great session, feeling confident, strong, fresh and powerful. Nothing too heavy today. Squats were lovely, box set to bang on parallel, smooth onto the box, take all tension off and snappy up. These may find their way in regularly. Even the 220kg x3 was easy and crisp.

Bench, not a problem, smooth and controlled, felt pretty light. Rows to finish.

Four days to go...

Here's the write up from todays ESM qualifier

1. 120kg Log
Always a weak event for me, although I have been improving. Was originally supposed to be clean once then press from shoulders but was changed to clean and press every rep so I knew I wouldn't be hitting my target of 4. Got 2, and lost control of the third.
2 Reps, 8th place

2. 270kg Axle Deadlift
Usually a banker for me to get a few points, but it's not been going well in training lately so really didn't know what to expect. Didn't matter in the end, got 6 reps which I knew would be good, but only Mike beat me, result!
6 Reps, 2nd place

3. Farmers Walk - 150kg for distance
Was originally supposed to be 125, but then changed to 150. I don't think it was 150, felt more like 135-140, anyway no matter, I'm s**t at farmers lol. Smooth 20m up to the turn, wibbly wobbly turn then made it another 5 metres before my little mitts gave way.
25m, 7th place

4. 150kg stone over yoke (54" maybe?)
Was hoping to get good points here, as my stones and loading seem to be going well at the moment. Tacky was clumpy as f**k, whether it was the heat or what I dont know. Comfy first rep, then lost the majority of my tacky, 2nd rep slipped out as I was lapping it, then tried to spread the tacky out and then got a 2nd rep. Pissed off as I should have got 4, which lost me a few much needed points.
2 Reps, =7th place

5. Arm over arm. Transit van uphill, 20m
Strong event for me, kept nice, smooth, full length pulls, taking up all the slack. Straight into a good rhythm, was third to go and thought my 21 second time would be good, turns out only the guy before me beat me, no one else got within 2 seconds.
21 seconds, 2nd place

Overall: 6th place

Really pleased with today. PBs all over the shop, and I didn't have much more to give. At one point I was 2 from last, and at another I was half a point of qualifying! Was tight right throughout!

I feel with a little work I should be in contention, another couple of reps on the log and / or stone and I'd be heading for the final. Next year, I will be Grin

Learned some lessons, had a great day, loved it. Well done to Mike for winning, and Luke, Sean and jamie for going through, best of luck in the final.

140*3
180*3

100*3 speed
100*3 speed

Deficit deadlifts - 4" box

Good mornings - speed glute activation

Still feeling pretty beaten up from monday, but have to get on it again ready for bodypower. One days rest is all I get! So today took the opportunity to mix it up a bit. Some lifts I don't regularly do, not max weights but trying to keep things crisp and technically good. Enjoyed the session, found it useful too with an eye on where my programming is going.
