sumo ?? no ! no ! Member 1399, 557 posts | goodwinm said: I did. Man you like your equations and formulas don't you? I think it may hinder your progress. I know the phrase 'Just Lift' is not exactly inspiring, and in some cases can be crap but damnit ' Just Lift!!' Best lesson I've ever learnt about lifting is to stop thinking, pick a routine, do it as written and stick with it until it stops working.

Thinking is not a bad thing, if you want to achieve great things you need not only a strong body, but a strong mind. How do you think people write routines? they think!

Dude i'm 67kg bodyweight, i already got to 3x bodyweight deadlift and 2x bodyweight bench, i need more than "just load the bar" to get higher in the food chain. Gaining weight is not an option, i just cant. I need every little trick and crazy routine to make me move forward. And all that without suplements. The point is that i need a big change to make me break my current Personal records.

Phil Richard (301kg squat, 195kg bench, 250kg deadlift & 735kg total) at the same bodyweight as you is a great example of what 20 years of basic hard work can achieve.

And phil didn't use lots of little tricks and crazy routines, just consistent hard work if your not getting any further ever consider that your diet needs attention, or that you need more rest?

a splendid chap, unlike some bitches on here Member 1670, 1705 posts SQ 190, BP 112.5, DL 220522.5 kgs @ 89.5kgs UnEq | Beginners don't have 1RMs. By that I mean, a beginners 1RM will increase almost session to session, so a calculated 1RM for a particular 'training cycle' is irrelevant. Mark Rippetoe writes on this a lot, and say what you want about him but this has a lot of logic to it. If you're a beginner, just lift the f**king weight. Then next session lift a little bit more. Linear progression is where it's at for novices/beginners. Keep it simple and lift heavy s**t. Then lift it again.

Feasting on humble pie. Member 51, 1692 posts SQ 227.5, BP 185, DL 272.5685.0 kgs @ 90.4kgs UnEq | I don't think Pablo new to lifting guys he's been at it a while now. I understand why you all give him stick but is there really anything wrong with wanting to better yourself and get bigger lifts? If I were you Pablo I'd get some rest in and see how that takes you. You've been working mega hard for ages maybe your body just needs some rest. Oh yh and a little piece of advice that has stood me well in the past if someone has a big squat but s**te bench when he starts talking about squats listen, when he bangs on about bench don't! See what I'm saying. Some of these guys are slating you and they don't lift your weights and there 20kg heavy than you?!
