Member 1585, 134 posts SQ 0, BP 100, DL 0100.0 kgs @ 88kgs UnEq | People often tell me to do a lot of squats to increase my strength. I mainly train at home now and as i dont have rack the biggest squats i can do are what i can get off the ground and up behind my neck [about 80kg]. Even i can squat more than this with a rack, and im weak as cat piss tbh. My question is: will doing a lot of [fairly] heavy deadlifts make up for not going so heavy on my squat?

Squatting regularly usually has a good carryover to deadlifts but not the other way round, i have found in my experience but may be wrong. Stiff legged deadlifts may help however.

HORRIBLE MEDLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Member 621, 4744 posts SQ 340, BP 220, DL 335895.0 kgs @ 106kgs Eq | In the short term you can deadlift mate! I did a deadlift routine and stopped my squats! And when I squatted again I got a 20kg PB! I'm not saying neglect the squats! But for now untill you get some stands!

Yeah but during your deadlift routine you also gained 20kg bodyweight which may have helped.
