been driving for 2 years now i am 19 years old work in the moter trade and live in bradford all this leads to high insurance which i was paying last it year

for my 1.6 02 golf standerd i was paying 146 a month i informed of 3 points went up a little got my renewel quote through post and they have said it will be 311 pounds a month to re insure me rang them and double checked they said its rite and assured me that every1's insurance is up and i nearly hit the roof

so can anyone advise me on what to do as in good indipendant brokers who maybe specials in young drivers moter trade or convictions

i know my insurance will be high but the quote is redicules bearing in mind iv already been insured on the vehicle

a few lads i went to collage with worked for there family buisness and they were on traders and got realy cheap insurance but i work for a major company so still classed in moter trade but cant get the benefit of a trader policy

funny thing is im proberly a low risk because im accident repairer not a mechanic iv seen some pretty messed up cars and i know what cars come out like in a smash and how safty systems work on a vehicle in certain conditions so im proberly alot more sensible than most young lads

i actully dont like cars and modified cars/boyracer cars which is the insurance class i proberly fall into

the reason it realy gets to me is you have to have insurance and theres no way around it so they can charge what they want

Theres a company called adrian flux that are meant to specialise in young drivers,I got a quote from them which was far from cheap but Im 17 and only passed my test a month ago and this quote has been the cheapest ive received so far so maybe with you being a couple of year older and having more experience you might be able to save some cash.Worth a try anyway pal

Try the usual internet search's such as Compare the Market, Elephant, Money Supermarket etc. I just reinsured and mines dirt cheap. I'm old ish though at 33. But still, managed to get it for roughly half what high street insurers can do. Think I'm with Swift Cover which is cheaper on account of being an online insurer.

You could get a traders policy just tell them that you work for the company and are going to start buying a few cars and fixing them up for sale in your own time My family also have a bodyshop, but i know a few lads that have done this.
I'm on the garage for when needs must but i have my own policy for the no claims but with this years rise they dont seem worth it

try Endsleigh insurance, they deal with students/young people (i used to be a young person once) they were pretty cheap for me, also look at limited mileage policies etc to bring costs down

I had a smash in my type-r got the payout, because its my fault I cant get another for the time being;Getting a KA 1.2 its going to be a shock but real cheap. You tried directline? that's who I'm with they have always been pretty cheap, I had my type-r at 21 and was only driving for three years;and even then it was only 78 quid a month.
