Member 1378, 3 posts SQ 205, BP 142.5, DL 287.5635.0 kgs @ 103kgs UnEq | No one looked like they were on anything to me. In my opinion the biggest people there in the way of muscle mass were me and Ben Kelsey, i weighed in at 103kg and i think he was around the same. Then again i do rememba lookin at one of the over 105's and thinking christ how could you get that big, but not in the way you'd want to be big, haha.

Also if we were aware of how heavy the weights in the events would be, and what the events would entail, then we could train for them. powerlifting and weightlifting assoc. have a large number of woman members we enjoy lifting, so make an event which will be popular amongst us.(dont forget us lighter bodyweights too). Hi Powergirl44 I did a strongman/woman comp in June this year which had women's weight classes sub-61kg and 61kg+. We had six girls enter, 3 in each weight class. Hopefully next year there will be more! Most of the girls were from Crossfit. I contacted several girls I know in powerlifting (from BDFPA) and weightlifting but couldn't get any of them interested in entering! I will keep trying, but although there are plenty of strong women around, getting them to the point of entering a strongwoman competition is another matter. I think that in time the interest level will rise but it needs to be nurtured. Anyway, look out for the FK.UK Strength & Power meet next summer.

Member 1067, 9 posts | I compeated in the Natural comp.Bravo...... I love strongman,I've been involve since 2000.Made uk final when Geoff Capes ran the comp with live. I've seen crap comps, out back of a pub in Canning town waiting for the glass to be swept from the comp area, having to explain why a guy has blood trickling down the back of his neck to my kids, another t**t on the gear. To those who slag this comp off, piss off and get a life. Its always easy to be negative, lifes to short.....

This year we had log press (based on % of bodyweight), truck pull, max deadlift and medley (prowler push, keg carry, tyre flips) in the heats. Semi-finals were a loading medley (heaviest object 75kg stone) and yoke (can't remember weight). Final was medley involving farmers and arm-over-arm. Note: this competition does not reveal the events and weights in advance! You have to come prepared for anything.

Yes the women's event was held at the same time as the men's event in Reading. No suits or wraps are allowed. No age groups. The lightest lady was 51kg. The oldest lady was around 50 I believe.
