Wednesday 05th August - Squat and Deadlifts @ Middlewood Barbell

Couldn't get to Ralls today as the misses was working away, I was training in the garage.

Felt s**t all day, not sure whats wrong but I feel "off" - Probably more mental that anything, I'm not the best person to be around at the moment.

Tonight's session was wank, I was late starting (not helped by me fashioning myself up a couple of blocks to deadlift from, which I barely used as I had a twinge) and by bloody Texas Power bar is bent on one end - Makes it feel like the bar is misloaded and everything 10% harder.

I also left my wrist wraps in my work bag (at work) so I had to make do with my versa grips used backwards, which were better than nothing but my wrists are really suffering today

Squats
  • 180kg x 5
  • 190kg x 5
  • 200kg x 5
  • 210kg x 5
Here's the vid but my camera messed up and lost the last 2 reps - I think my memory card my be stuffed Unhappy

God awful set - every rep just felt wrong...

    With reverse bands from here
  • 220kg x 3

  • 240kg x 3
No video as my camera fooked up again

Got that familiar twinge in my groin on the last rep of the 210 set, nothing too bad but there all the same.

Deadlift

    From blocks
  • 140kg x 5
  • 180kg x 5
  • 220kg x 3
I was planning to go to 250kg tonight for a triple but got a twinge(hot spot) in my pelvis - Still don't like pulling from this height

    From the floor
  • 180kg x 3
  • 180kg x 3
  • 180kg x 3

Not happy tonight - feel like I shouldn't have bothered

They can't all be great unfortunately, it's frustrating but it happens to us all at some point. Like I was saying to you recently your training has been looking really good so I'm sure you will be back doing great in no time mate!

Cheers lads,

Feeling better today for going to bed at 19:00 last night and not waking up until 09:00 this morning.

Hopefully that's the last bad session I have for a while, looking back the numbers aren't so bad but it felt wanky, wank wank!

Bit of assistance work later and maybe a little tabata Happy

That a sleep PB? Noticed you said you were not a fan of deadlifting off blocks at Ralls, keep at them they really do raise your deadlift.

Sunday 08th August 2010 - Olympic Gym

A few lads down today - always a good thing Grin

Heavy Leg Press
  • Heavy x 8
  • Heavy x 8
  • Heavy x 8
  • Heavy x 8

No idea what weight I was using - too many strange plates to count

Leg Extensions
  • Stack x 12
  • Stack x 10
  • Stack x 9 + half stack x 10 + 15 Sissy Squats

Lying Leg Curl
  • 70kg x 10
  • 70kg x 10
  • 70kg x 10

Stiff Leg Deads
  • 100kg x 8
  • 100kg x 8
  • 100kg x 8

Log Press
  • 102kg x 4
  • 102kg x 5 - PB
Got leg cramp in both quads on the last rep, and every exercise from this point forward - Training legs first may not have been such a good idea...
My camera also messed up the video for this (I've now binned the memory card)

  • 102.5kg x 4

  • 102.5kg x 4
These were hard work with my quads cramping on every rep Unhappy

Strict Log Press
  • 82kg x 4
  • 82kg x 4
  • 82kg x 4

    Again leg cramp caused problems

Atlas Stones
  • 103kg to 48"
  • 135 to 48"
  • 160 to 48"
    Video to follow

Nearly toppled over when my legs cramped up - hard work trying to lift a stone without using your legs Roll-Eyes

Some solid stone work from the lads today Grin

Farmers
  • 90kg - 30m (drop and turn)
  • 120 - 20m
This is bloody heavy, going to be hard work in the comp in a few weeks time
  • 90kg - 15m

Axle deadlift and hold
  • No idea what weight I was using, just kept adding plates until I couldn't hold for 10 seconds, then backed off and did a 30 second, and a 20 second hold.

Also did some laterals and rear flyes

Not a bad session all thing considered, Smalls more or less stood me up though - confirming him to be a bit of a C**t Happy

Quad cramp is a b**ch Cool

If you weren't showing your real priorities in developing your quad sweep we could have done some s**t together.

Let me know about next Sunday and we can do some stuff.

Nice of you to say mate, but I don't think it's likely.

I'm basically going into this relying on being strong and fit (that tabata is actually paying off I think). My time playing on kit has been very limited - I've not even managed to have a go on the yoke yet Unhappy.

I'll bring it on comp day, so you beasts better not have a bad day as I'll 'av ya!

Happy
