hi everyone

BACKGROUND

Hello i have been trainin for about 8 weeks now about the same amount of time i joined this forum (which rocks btw) Im lookin forward to sharin my progress with u all and hopefully pick up some good tips and to improve. Dispite me wantin to train for strongman my local gyms are small and crappy so only trainin i do besides normal gym sessions is lifting my homemade keg and sandbag (which i learned how to do on here Grin )


LAST NITE'S SESSION

Deadlift's
6x55kg

Back squats

Close Grip Bench

10x25kg
10x35kg 2 sets
8x45kg 2 sets
6x55kg 2 sets
25kg for as many reps as i could 31reps (was very hot)

One Arm Dumbell

17.5kg 10 reps both arms 3 sets each arm

finished on some curls
and very light push press

thanks im pleased with the trainin so far although the totals arnt massive i have to keep reminding myself tht iv only been trainin approx 9 weeks so im gunna be nowhere near some of the beasts on here...yetGrin

You have to start somewhere mate and as you have not long started, I'm sure you will make constant gains for a while before you plateau.

rest o session not worth talkin about cos it was s**t.

changin gym as from next week can u belive the dont even allow chalk in my current gym for grip cos they dont want the bar gettin dirty wtf is it a gym or a f**kin beauty salon ?????Angry

one arm bumbbell overhead

finished on some curls ans push press

can anyone help me wi any good tips to build leg strength other than squats i squat at least 2 times a week (not this week as i hurt my groin) and i see little improvment, maybe im expecting improvment 2 soon i dunno but any help would be massivly appreciated thanks Happy

Squat more volume then mate, squats are king, if you aren't getting stronger squatting then you're not squatting right!

i am planning to start competing in some strongman events next year but because my strongman equipment is limited to what i have made myself im stuck with normal gym stuff, jus wondered if there were any tricks u guys mite kno.

i have managed to put 15kg onto my squat in 8 weeks smalls but seen as i havnt trained for long im jus wonderin if it was the trainin or jus tht i hadnt reached what i cud do if u get what i mean. I do have crappy skinny legs which dont help either i suppose, maybe i need a sweet hat like urs Happy

this mornings training

pull ups x15 3 sets

overhead rows and crucifix hold 6 reps hold for 6 seconds 3 times each set 3 sets

overhead one arm dumbell

17.5kg x10 3 sets each arm (really easy jus strict press them out)

curls

10x20kg 3 sets

back squats

10x25kg
10x35kg
8x45kg
6x55kg
4x65kg
4x75kg
4x85kg (felt really good and easy today)

bench

10x25kg
10x35kg 2 sets
8x45kg 2 sets
6x55kg 2 sets
4x65kg 2 sets
25kg for reps 36

only have 20 sec rest between sets

then struggled my tits off to a 55kg strict press

Last Nights Training

close grip bench

10x12kg
8x35kg 2 sets
6x45kg 2 sets
4x55kg 2 sets
2x65kg 2 sets

25kg for as many reps (41)

did some overhead dumbell
nothing really worth commenting on.

6 of use had a pound for pound deadlift competition which i won
my 3 pulls were
150kg
160kg
170kg

not tht impressive but was takin it steady still nursing a previous injury.
And it felt so good beating complete strangers and CLAIMIN MY 1ST VICTORY all be it a nothing one.

wow my 1st session back after 2 pulled calf muscles and tendon damage in my right hand i was nervous heres how i did Grin

Back Squats

(didnt want to go too heavy jus get a feel for it)
10x25kg

8x45kg

4x65kg 2 sets
4x75kg 2 sets


Bench Press

10x25kg
10x35kg 2 sets
10x45kg 2 sets
10x55kg 2 sets

25kg for reps (35)

Barbell curls

15x 25kg 3 sets

One Arm Dumbell

17.5kg 10 reps both arms 3 sets
floor to oveerhead in one movement
25kgx5
35kgx5

and some deadlifting but had to stop as i felt abit iffy Unhappy

thats a solid deadlift mate , not far off 200kg

a distinct lack of kettlebells in here !!
