Thought its about time i start a log so here goes.

Currently at 620kg total. 220 squat, 150 bench, 250 deadlift. My aim at the minute is to do a 650kg total at the BDF comp in January.

My routine will look something like this, although i'm not totally set on it.

Monday

Bench
Board Press
T – Bar Rows
DB Shoulder Press

Tuesday

Squats
Deadlifts
Abs
Shrugs

Thursday

Front Squats
Good Mornings
Shrugs
Abs

Friday

Close Grip Bench
Push Press
Weighted Chins
Lat Pulldowns

Bench is going to be 5x5 starting next Monday at 110kg.
Board Presses will just be heavy singles

I will go heavy on squats light on deads one week, then alternate them the next.

I would prefer to do front squats / good mornings on Friday, but I also don’t want to have both upper body sessions in the morning (Mondays and Thursdays will be before work).

Overall the plan is not ideal but because I want to continue with Judo and wrestling, I think it’s the best I can do. Any comments / ideas are welcome.

Pretty sound routine mate, lots of good exercises. Like you say it can't be perfect with your other commitments but I think you've done a pretty good job considering.

What's this comp in January then? Haven't heard anything about it.

Best of luck with the log.

aye man, not ideal doing the lower body work in back to back sessions - at least with the upper you have the weekend in between, but what can you do!

Basically you will need to get wedged for ditching sundays sessions, though i can understand the reasoning.

If i was you, and i am f**king happy i am not, i would actually just train weights three times/week with a formula like 1. bench & rows, 2. squat & abs, 3. deads and board presses. Or even push on all three sessions. Your wrestling and MA work takes its toll, no escape from that.

why would you not want to be me? Sexy irish accent, aero-dynamic hairstyle, i look great in a singlet but best of all North West Chomp. Oh and i'm stronger than you fatty.

Training three days a week may be more beneficial, but i just couldn't do it. I love lifting and to be honest i would be in there every day if i thought i could get away with it. But i'll see how the training goes, i may swap some of the exercises around.

aye good point. Not the first time love becomes a liability. I think you just need to play around with the volume and intensity and like you said, see how it goes. Still plenty of time till the january BDFPA comp.

Unfortunately you have the ability to grow the hair, my afro days appear to be behind me. Unless of course drinking milk would make my hair grow back.

I think the "sexy" Irish accents are the southern ones mate, not the Ian Paisley ones.

First session back from Ireland yesterday. Due to losing about a stone i have decided to start very light on bench and build it back up. Bench seems to have been hit the hardest, lat work went quite well.

Bench Press (in the old gym, freshers pissing me off),

105kg x 5,5,5,5,5

Chin ups

BW x 5,5,5,5,5,

Boards

110kg x1
120kg x1
130kg x1
140kg x1

T-Bars

50kg x10
70kg x10
80kg x10
90kg x5,5,5

Standing DB shoulder press

22.5kg x5
25kg x5
27.5kg x5
30kg x5
32.5kg x5

Standing DB presses are fecking hard, i used to do the 50kgs DB's quite easily seated.

Oh and Jo has joined the "i fart when i deadlift club", even though she tried to deny it. Quite the ripper it was as well.

Tuesday's session wasn't too good, i still feel quite weak on most exercises.

Deadlifts
205kg x 2,2,2,2,2

Squats - just form work, worked up to 130kg, but i was using one of the s**t bars so i got fed up and stopped there.

Shrugs - kept these fairly light as well, just up to 140kg

Abs Pulldowns
49kg x 10
56kg x 10

I've been keeping a food diary the last few days and what immediately stands out is that i am not getting enough calories. Calorie intake has been around 2500 - 3000, so i'm going to bump this up 4000, and depending on how that goes, maybe 4500. Aiming for around 50% carbs, 25% protein, 25% fat.

What was your calorie intake when you were getting up to 15 stone?

s**t man, that is a really low calorie intake for someone with your activity levels and muscle mass to maintain! That is not enough for a maintenance even is it.

Nice one for spotting it out though, food logs can have their purpose. Now what you need is Operation Apes**t, or perhaps even GFH:
