Ok was back squating today for the first time warmup 60kg-80-90-100 then 120 x2 fine 3rd rep went down as i was coming up heard 3 clicking sounds and everyone else did, finished the rep then couldnt really put much pressure on my leg. Its round the side of my knee cap, its not the hamstring behind the knee but its not on the knee cap itself either it feels just above the calf. Any ideas and what should i do? now in some pain but its generally only when i put pressure on it.

Rest it for a few days and if you're still suffering after that see a good physio. Seeing an expert gives you are greater chance of finding the root cause and treating any problems, nobody can assess it over the internet.

talking from my own experince ive done the same thing mine was patella tracking the knee cap has come off its original tracking hence why the cracking. i went to hospital they said just twisted my knee joint they cant do much at ae due just maybe an xray i went to my doctors and he reffrered me to knee specialistgot told i wouldnt squat again 6 months later did an easy 180x3 no knee wraps so even though im not a doctor and i cant asses it over the internet i belive that what it sounds like best thing to do is get ur doctor to refer u to knee specialist asap.

hospital gave me pain killers and ice and rest i couldt bend my knee cap for days and could get in out shower but the swelling will go down and will get better lots of physio and rest is needed mate (if its what i say it is

I've had cracking in my right knee for as long as I can remember and that was way before ever started lifting weights.

Assessment, Dr Ross? Grin
