Have been lurking on this site for a while now, so i thought it was about time i started my own log, manned up and eneterd a few compitions!(hopefully) I've been training for 8 years or so, started as more of a bodybuilder (as you do) but over the past couple of years have moved over to more strengh related training. Would like to compete in some local strongman comps soon, just need to aquire some more equipment (log, farmers and yoke) and i'll have no excuses.
Here's a link to my youtube page with a few vids of mine
http://www.youtube.com/user/jamspastic

Monday 22/2/10
Push press
20kg x 8
40kg x 8
60kg x 5
80kg x 1
91kg x 5 x 2 sets (both sets are p.b unfortunately)

Sandbag strict overhead press
15kg x 8
30kg x 8
45kg x 8
47.5kg x 8 x 3 sets.
Enjoyed these, will stick with them for a while.

Side raises
15kg x 11 x 3 sets

Band push downs
3 sets of 18 reps

Finished with 60 reps on the abb wheel, and a boat laod of neck work!!

Thanks mate, wish i could say it felt easy!!

Though things might make a bit more sense if i did a little write up of my current routine....

Monday
Push press 2x5
Sandbag strict press 3x8
side raise 3x12
Band push downs 3x max
Abb work and neck work

Wednesday
Bottom posistion squat 2x5
Band pull throughs 3 x max
Kroc rows 2 max sets
Thick bar curls 3x8
Calf raises 3x15

Friday
Weighted dips 3x5
Incline dumbbel press 3x8
Lat flyes (for the rota cuff)3x12
Dumbbel skull crushers 3x10
Leg raises 3 max sets

Monday
3.5" defict deadlifts 2x5
Back squat 2x10
Weighted pullups 3x6
Thick bar curls 3x8
Calf raises 3x15

Then reapet last mondays and so on...
The small accsesory movements (curls and stuff) change every few weeks, but the main one's i keep the same untill they stall.
Without going into too much detail about my diet as to not bore anyone, i'll just say it's high in protien and fat, and low in carbs. Works really well for me!
Anyway, todays training
Wednesday 24/2/10

Bottom posistion squats
20kg x 10
60kg x 8
100kg x 5
130kg x 2
147.5kg x 5 x 2 sets
Good for more yet, will jump to 150 next week, them maybye go up in 1.5kg's from then on.

Band pull throughs (2 green bands chocked to one black band)
4 sets of 17 reps
HARD!

Kroc rows
20kg x 10
40kg x 8
60kg x 5
80kg x 20 (straps)
90kg x 10 (pretty hard but had more in the tank)
Think there's a good chance i could get 20 reps with my bodyweight (86kg) now, but i'll stick with the small jumps in weight, no need to rush things.

2" thick bar curls
10kg x 10
30kg x 8
35kg x 8 x 3 sets

Calf raises
30kg x 15
50kg x 15
85kg x 15 x 3 sets

Good ses today.

Thats the plan in the near future, but i need to work on some major weak points first, and as their's no decent gyms local to me that i know of, i need to buy a log, yoke and some farmers walk handles. Expensive stuff....

Saturday 27/2/10
AM, Sled pulling. 6 runs of 100 metres with 55kg weighted sled (cheap plastic sled with 55kg snadbag ontop). Felt really tough, grass was muddy and sticky. Pretty much kicked my ass......but felt great!

Sunday 28/2/10
AM sled pulling 6 runs, felt a little easier, only because i was expecting it to be really hard. Nearly slipt a couple of times on the mud, so i may invest in some rugby boots with studs.
Grip training
C.O.C #1 Right 3x3, left 3x3
C.O.C #1.5 Right 6 reps x5 sets, left 6 reps 5 sets
C.O.C # 2 right x 1

Plate pinch
(2 20kg plates put smooth side together with a bar in between them for added weight)
40kg x 5
50kg x 5
60kg x 5
75kg x 2+1 (re-chalked)

2(and a bit)" thick dumbbell deadlift
20kg x 3 (both hands)
40kg x 3
50kg x 3

Monday 1/3/10
3.5" defict deadlifts
60kg x 10
100kg x 6
150kg x 3
195kg x 1
208.5kg x 5 x 2 sets
Felt pretty tough, but second set was a little easier than the first purely because i got a little more siked up and tried to pull as fast as possible. Go for 210x5 next week.

Back squat
20kg x 10
60kg x 8
100kg x 5
142kg x 10 x 2 sets
First set was fine, second was really hard! Had to do some heavy breathing after the 5th rep. Form still not quite right yet, need to get back into the groove.

Weighted pullups (palms away)
B.W x 8
+15kg x 5
+25kg x 2
+33.5 x 6 x 2 sets
Felt hard, but everything felt hard today. Still improving though.

2" thick bar curls
10kg x 10
30kg x 8
35kg x 8
37.5 x 8

Not a bad ses, felt a little rough and weak, but got what i wanted.

Wednesday 3/3/10
Push press
20kg x 8
40kg x 8
60kg x 5
80kg x 1
92kg x 5x2sets
P.B again, second set was better than the first, pushed a little harder with my legs i think. Technique is improving.

Sandbag strict press
15kg x 8
30kg x 6
45kg x 4
50kg x 8x3 sets

Sandbag shouldering
75kg x 2 (1 each side)
105kg x 1 (another p.b YESHH!!)
Think i'm good for maybye 115? Will have ago another day.

Side raises
15kg x 12x3 sets

Band pushdowns
3 sets of 19 reps

Finished with 65 reps on the abb wheel and more neckwork!!

Friday 5/3/10
Bottom position squats
20kg x 10
60kg x 8
100kg x 5
130kg x 2
150kg x 5x2sets
175kg x 1(5kg pb)
180kg x 1 (another 5kg pb)
Really happy with these today, 175 seemd to fly up, and 180 went up without too much of a fight. Still good for a fair bit more yet i think.

Band pull throughs
3 sets of 18 reps

Kroc rows
25kg x 10
40kg x 8
60kg x 5
82.5kg x 20 (straps)
90kg x 12 (straps)
Very tough, esp last set, but they're still going well, and seem to be helping my deadlift lockout too, bonus!!. Think the sled pulling must be helping a lot aswell, as i don't need to rest to catch my breath bewtween my right and left hand doing the kroc rows as much now.

2" barbbell curls
10kg x 10
30kg x 8
35kg x 8
37.5kg x 8
40kg x 8

Calf raises
30kg x 15
50kg x 15
85kg x 16x3 sets

Felt great today, had loads of energy (possibly from a monster carb day yestarday) and hit some great p.bs! Very happy with the way this routine is working out.

Thanks mate.

Saturday am
sled pulling, 6 runs of aprox 100 metres and a lot of unwanted attention from people walking and driving to work! I've been doing this sled pulling lark for a while now and i still get anoyed at people staring and asking me stupid questions while i'm clearly unable to answer back because i to f@&ked to speak! Doesn't seem to matter how early i get up to do it there's always someone around.......
