EDCLARKE | England 12 australia 10 | 07-10-2007 @ 10:25
not particularly well educated Member 85, 10986 posts SQ 170, BP 130, DL 260560.0 kgs @ 90kgs UnEq | Anyone watch the rugby yesterday, absolutely brilliant to see England play with some pride and passion and overpower Australia. That should shut the whinging aussie bas***ds up for a few years. It was made even better by france beating the all blacks a few hours later ,now all we need is for Scotland to front up in two games for an England Scotland final ..... which sadly Scotland loose by a disputed penalty in the last second of extra time !

Not got anything against Australians per se, but their teams always come across as arrogant and they are really poor loosers to boot! They really did think they were gona give us a kicking which meant seeibng the look on their faces at hald time was pricless! Also good to see NZ beaten. I like em but they chocked again and dserved to loose. The antipideons may have had the talent but us western europeons had the grit, drive, spirit and the ganme plan!

Fair play to him to getting back to this stage, he has been through hell and back with all his injuries. Got to give it to rugby players, tremendous athletes. Andrew Sheridan is an absolute brick, maybe he'll have a crack at lifting again when he retires!

It makes me regret 4 wasted years since 2003. They stil struggled to use the ball they had productively, which sort of reminds me of being lacking in confidence and lacking time with the same players doing the same things. anyway, I'm off to concentrate on Fiji on the telly.

I'm gutted that Wigan lost too. I've no idea what the hell Union fans enjoy. League is faster, has way bigger collisions, teams actually score tries (you can't "cheat" a win by just scoring a few penalties and drop goals), way better athletes in league too and with the exception of one or two positions there doesn't seem to be too much skill in union either. Oh yeah, no one seems to know what they're doing in union either. Still glad that England won. The Mrs is an Aussie. I'm sure that I'm going to cop a load of s**t for this post but it's just got to be said. And to the northerners who prefer union - shame on you!!!!

has spent time in a modern educational setting Member 47, 1221 posts | Union fans always say that League is a "stop/start" game but I wonder how long the ball is in play in union as opposed to league. The ball's in touch so often in union and what about all the stoppages that are caused from collapsed scrums?
