a pretty boring and rubbish session tonight. as id had a bit of coaching on my oly lifting technique the other day i decided to have a light technique session, im fairly confident that i slipped back into my bad lifting habits tho!

POWER SNATCH

im not sure why i did power snatches rather than full snatches, i think laziness! im working on the double knee bend, and concentrating on the 3 pulls, i have a habit of just pulling the bar straight up which tends to make the bar drift to far away from the body which isnt efficient, plus it makes it hard to get under the bar without diving forward. i tend to have the same problem with the clean, ive got fast elbows and i good rack position, i just need to work on the 3 pulls.

CLEAN AND JERK

40k 3 sets of 2
60k 3 singles
70k 2 singles
75k x 1
80k x 1
82.5 x 1 (press out)

i also need to work on my split jerks. i tend not to push myself low enough so end up pressing out
i blame my arms, im sure they are too long!

another pretty poor session tonight, the gym was empty which i tends to mean im not as motivated.

deadlifts tonight, decided on a nice light night, ive been working on heavy singles for ages which seems to have taken a bit of a toll on my lower back.

DEADLIFTS

nice and light, felt a bit lazy for not going heavier or going for reps

im bored so id thought id stick a video or two up, the push presses are 70k and are from ages ago, i think im not driving up fast enough after the dip, plus i think i have long chimp arms

deadlift warm ups from ages ago.in weightlifting shoes 160k. bounced of the floor so not real deadlifts Happy

I'm far from an overhead expert but to me your dip looks too deep and not explosive enough.

More like a slow quarter squat. Think above exploding through the floor and throwing that weight through the roof.

cheers tony i was thinking the same thing myself, they felt shallow and pretty explosive but watching the video tells a very different story, im going to try and get more lifting videos to try and help my technique.......so all comments and advice welcome!

worked on sitting back into the squat and making sure i pushed my knees out etc

deadlifts and presses today, kept the deadlifts light as i was stalling by going heavy everyweek.......thought it might be useful to go easy on my back for a while!
