What are peoples view's on training with a cold ? I've always tried to rest a bit in the past, but my training is going well at the minute and I'm reluctant to stop. I trained last night (heavy bench), wasn't expecting much and got a p.b, so I thought, bolloks, I'll just train through it !!

I've always gone with if it's just a head cold, then train. But if it's gone to your chest then give training a miss for a bit.Works for me - but I am a lazy git LOL

I tend to think that it's a self-limiting thing. If you feel genuinely ill, the last thing on your mind will be training - one of my memories of flu was the near inability to make it to the top of the stairs. Having said this, I couldn't swear that I haven't made the odd cold worse than it should have been by training when in a compromised state. While missing one or two sessions is very unlikely to have a negative impact on progress, picking up a secondary infection which forces you out of the gym for a fortnight is far more of an inconvenience.

Hmm, in an age of simple solutions, this response was a distinct FAIL.
