He's just one of those guys that really makes a lot of sense. I've read a lot of his stuff and applied a lot of his stuff to my own training with good results. His advice for the most part is helpful and applicable.

For me he loses all credability in advocating OH sqts, but I guess I lose mine when I ask about masturbation and it's application to strength and power trainingConfused

At the end of the day, I know which I'd prefer, and which is least damaging to my wristWink

Well, I don't know too much about Oly lifting, certainly not as much as you do. Just some of his general training recommendations have been like gold to me.

It seems like someone on SDF found the same youtube video as me and lots of the members have put in their 2 cents worth. Many seem to think that they're a good exercise.

It looks like one of those cultural disconnects - US Aussy o-lifters and field athletes seem to revere them, UK ones very definitely don't. There are probably good arguments on either side.

I guess I buck the UK trend, I love them. Ive had positive results in ab strength and hip flexibility from doing them regularly, and I think they make a really good warmup for squatting or just about any full body training. Although of course there are a 101 ways to achieve these aims.

Most importantly, I find them fun.

Also, I can see wories over injury risk as the only reason not to do them if they appeal to you. And plenty of lifters who ive known do them for years have done so without injury so if you do them properly I see them being no more of a risk than any other lift.
