Great fun day, and certainly the most hardcore and ghetto place I've ever seen, and this is counting in Adlington!Didnt feel strong though, but this was a perfect way to kickstart this phase in my training. Shawn looked strong as ever, Spug did great as well, and handed my arse over in the farmers pickups! IFSA log 3x85 1x90 1x95 f,fx105 - close 2x85 split jerk style Walk of pain/keg carry with 135kg killer implement. Hip went a bit funny in one turn so I wuzzied out after four lengths. Tyre deadlift 3x big f**k off tyre 2x big f**k off tyre + one lad f x two big f**k off tyres - simply not strong enough Good fun this fixed ROM deadlifting. Should try it more. Car pull with a harness up a steep incline, did two "runs", went ok, learned the technique a bit. Legs jelly after this. Farmers pickups up to 120 but no energy left. | ||

Training is in summer maintenance mode and FULL f**kING BALLS TO WALLS shall commence in few weeks time again (10kg pea protein ordered etc goodies). Gimp suits, lol! Aye man, its fun! Still against equipped lifting but its fun to do and i have a feeling it will help my strongman quite a bit. Watch this space... Actually planning to whack on my squat suit tomorrow again, will try to work with 230 and try to get a better depth | ||

Joe squatting monster weights, Lemon Fresh weightlifters cleaning and jerking monster weights, Pete benching monster weights fast, Boar doing tricep pushdowns with a respectable resistance - generally it is always a day of monsterdom when visiting Adlington And ricks benching was the best i have seen so far as well! Squats, equipped briefs: 6x70 5x110 3x160 straps up: 2x190 knee wraps: 2x210 2x230 2x240kg Some progress there. Can definitely see light at the end of the tunnel. Still short of depth, but i can feel the suit breaking in and i will nail the depth in few more sessions. Walkouts were better today, but still need work. Again, i can see the progress, and know what i need to do. Deadlifts tried to deadlift with my suit on, went to 180 and it was HORRIBLE So painful to pull yourself to the bar and in the pull phase it didnt feel that helpful anyway. Might just continue to do these raw, unless i can get my hands on a looser squat or deadlift suit. Since the oly boys were in, it was a good opportunity to get some pointers, so: Power cleans + split jerk 3x50 2x70 1x80 1x85 1x90 1x95 - pb, but not really since this is all so new, the jerk was a borderline because it didnt lock out fast enough. I nailed the lockout easy strength wise but it should be snappier. fx100 - made a total mess out of this one, failed at clean 2x2x70 Exellent session, fun, productive, educational and made some gains. | ||

Walk your talk Member 5, 25558 posts Administrator | some are able to put up with bad positioning and pull great with a suit on (big T) others (me) struggle , still worth a try though, it does take the fun out of the deadlift when you are in pain just trying to touch the bar !! good to see the squats are on the way, id like be be in attendance when you sink one and a new PB is born.... | ||

And you know, i think my squat stance at Adlington is not wide enough for me to get the most of my suit. The platform in the squat cage is too narrow for me to properly spread out, I would squat wider if i could do it there. Once I have tamed the suit i will go to Petes corner to squat. Need to rethink my deadlift strategy - might even get a deadlift suit if i land on some extra cash! | ||

still a devious weightlifting bastard Member 43, 14374 posts | For what you're training for mate you're form isnt far off. Dont be too hard on yourself. No matter how good our technique is ultimately we miss a lemon fresh lift because it's too heavy. You just need plenty more of the same. | ||
