with a bit of setting up - arch,leg drive,shoulder blades pulled together and i like to tuck the elbows in a little (raw and shirted) and some paused benching ,you are capable of far more on the bench, your a natural born bencher !!!

thanks boar very nice words,i hope i can really get my bench going had plenty of encouragment from you guys especially mr Flett thanks lads.i have had a try at tucking elbows in and it seems awkward,i seem to manage it ok on the lighter weight and the weight does drive up faster,when it gets to near max i seem to forget or avoid tucking elbows,ive read on pluk and here that it helps a great deal having the elbows in,would you bore and the lads n lasses on sugden say it was essential to try and keep the elbows in for a better benchConfused

Depend what you consider a decent bench. I don't tuck my elbows at all. Infact I falre them right out, I also have no arch or leg drive.

Different styles of benching will suit different people.

I have benched 160 raw and 192.5 equipped.

lol, if tony had utilised some leg drive etc he would have 200+ , considering he can get 192.5 out with basic flat-on-yer-back pressing,thank god he didnt sort that one out befor the comp.

just keep trainin mate, thats the most important thing, well that and cleaning out your gym a littleGrin
