what is everyone's fran time? Member 3986, 10443 posts SQ 340, BP 200, DL 400940.0 kgs @ 129kgs Eq | Britains Strongest Man 2021 8th place for me, will give a run down of events. Dumbbell medley. 80-120kg dumbbells I popped the first 3 up pretty comfortably but couldn't quite lockout the 110kg. Annoying but definitely improved a lot this year on dumbbell, beat Pa and was about half a second behind Hix so it's going in the right direction. Would have been really useful to have a play on the dumbbells before hand so lesson learnt. 5th place Yoke, 400kg 20m Felt extremely confident on this, got a great start and flew out. Just lost balance a bit around 15m and dropped, quickly picked up and finished in 12.6 seconds for 6th place. Bish won in 9.5, not sure I would have beaten him if I stayed up but I would have been sub 10 and comfortably second so very frustrating! Deadlift 350kg axle Felt good going into this, felt very heavy but no heavier than it should at 350kg, got the first 3 up then took a break to go for the 4th but couldn't get it into position to hitch so I was stuck on 3. Joint last with Des Gahan and then there was a big pack on 5. This is actually a pretty good improvement so can't be too unhappy, Des is a 395kg puller so I think I'm right around the 400kg mark now but that's not enough! I was the only one without a suit so I'm going to get in one now and hopefully that will bump me up quite a few points for next time. Loading medley, Anchor, keg, sandbag, tire This was another big lesson on trying the kit, was much slower than Des on the anchor, I couldn't get it cleared off my quads and realised I was holding the wrong part, was catching Des up through the rest but then had a little slip on the sandbag which put me back behind then was catching him up on the tire but couldn't quite get him. 40 seconds for 6th place. Really tight and the mistakes really cost me here. Stones 100-180kg Normally I'm really slick on the first one but couldn't get my hands off the stone so had to have two bites at the cherry, the rest went up as expected, one motioned the 160kg which I was happy about. Probably would have been quicker to lap and load but in the future I'll need to one motion it and I was thinking a bit more long term at this point after the bad comp. Ended up with 30.5 seconds, would have been a bit quicker without the fumble but still have a lot of work to do to get down near the 20 second mark. That will be a big focus over winter. Overall 8th place, really frustrated with my performance on the day but also really happy with how strong I felt. As s**t as the performance was I'm in a really good place, conditioning felt great and I've hit lot's of PBs in the build up. Time to keep focusing on my deadlift, get in a suit and figure that out. Excited to get working now over winter, lot's to get stuck into and not too much to improve to get towards the top of the table. | ||

Nice off season now with a big focus on varying my movement patterns and getting myself out of my comfort zone. Other big goal is to learn how to use my Deadlift suit and pin down my Deadlift technique ready for next season. 30.10.21 Pause overhead squat 60 4x6 Snatch 60x3 70 5x3 Clean and jerk 100 5x3 Pause broad jump 5x3 Deadlift suited 120 170 4x2 190 4x2 210 3x2 230 3x2 270x2 300x1 330x1 That'll do, felt really good for my first suited session. Hollow hold 15kg plates 3x20 seconds. Done. Was at a spa yesterday for the Mrs birthday but I'm going to an mma session this evening and will be on my programme properly from tomorrow. | ||

Grippers to warm up Thumbless axle deadlift 60 100 140 160 180 200xfail 200x1 (Boom, there we go! 10kg PB) Plate pinch 2x20s x5 left arm (Rep PB) 2x20s x4 right arm (Rep PB) Hub lift A few attempts and still can't manage it with a 20kg plate! Can get a little movement but not a full lift. Done. Buzzing to get 200kg thumbless axle. | ||

Trained 5 times over there, a couple of proper sessions then a few fun bodybuilding sessions. Need to plan my training better next year though when we're away. Got back on the 23rd Nov so I'll log from there later today! | ||

Never had jet lag that bad before but we flew Sunday night so literally didn't sleep for over 24 hours which wasn't ideal. Didn't feel like I had any strength in me but I thought I could do some cardio and graft at that, decided on the rower and nearly went for 10km but I'd done that before so upped it to a half marathon. Rowing machine Little warm up Half marathon: 1:38:59 (PB by over 11km hahaha and a very hard fought one Average stroke rate was 23 ish spm. Felt fairly comfortable at first but it was tough going after 45 minutes. I've never in all my life done a continuous bout of cardio for more than an hour so really happy to beat that at strongman bodyweight. Done. | ||

Tried to do an MMA session but the guy cancelled a few times which is no good so decided to try the climbing wall near me. Brand new with a fair size bouldering section. Took me a while to get my eye in but was feeling good by the end, forearms written off as expected. | ||
