Much better. Hips and back still a tad achy but nowhere near as bad as last time. I will be interested to see how things go next time after another nine or so nights on the new mattress. Just might get a bit excited about this.

Today's little bit of nonsense courtesy of pointless.

A cheetah is a small cat, a lion is a big cat, what is the difference ?

A small cat purrs but cannot roar, a big cat roars but cannot purr.

I few down tonight, good laugh and much nonsense talked. Swung by Tesco on the way home, the best news is that en route I passed four filling stations, all had fuel and none had queues. And it's weekend

Time for a change tonight so I tried fives all the way, and I paid the price for not enough volume over the last few weeks. Tired by the end, but they all were nice enough and felt better than thay had for a good while. Volume is the future methinks

I'm finding reps, short rests, and short sessions is absolute gold for me.

Interesting, how long do your workouts tend to take ?

My actual lifting goes from first unrack to last rack in roughly 22 minutes, for three working sets of either four or five movements. From start off session to end of stretching is 37 minutes.

Definitely would've considered a cheetah a big cat. There must only be a handful of big cat species in that case.

As would I but that is what they said. It may be an over-simplification and there may be further complications. It's a pretty good rule of thumb though

Similarly, monkeys are monkeys and apes are great apes, all except the gibbon who just was great enough. So they created a category of "ape" just for him.

Warm tonight, got a bit of a sweat on.

One of the gym regulars, knowing that I am always prepared to champion the cause of correctly inflated tyres asked me to check his. He informed me that they should be 32 psi, they were all 18, so no punctures just poorly set, very poorly set. I have in addition to my now famous Longacre, 2.5"diameter, glow in the dark pressure gauge, a Halford's twin cylinder footpump. I rarely need to put more that a couple of pounds in mine and 14 in each tyre is more pumping than I care to do. It took a shade over twenty minutes and I had a proper sweat on by the end. But at least my friend drove home more safely than he drove there.

A few extra reps on the way up. There is good news and there is bad news. The good news is that neither the shoulder nor the back grumbled once, the bad news is that the hips still aren't happy. Not as unhappy as they once were but definitely not happy. The last rep of the last three sets was very difficult

Away for six. I am sofa shopping tomorrow and not before time. It's going to cost and it will probably hurt me, as I have surely mentioned before I hate spending money sensibly.

A sofa has been ordered and should be here in early February. Quite amazed by the amount of differences there are in sofa firmness, some so soft that they are difficult to stand up from and some quite hard. My interior design consultant informed me that I would know the right one when I sat in it and by the lord Harry she was right.

We schlepped over to the confessional for some nosebag and enjoyed a tasty burger and chips. Just a pity it wasn't bigger

My brother has a birthday today, I am old and he is older, so he is very old. None the less I shall go and wish him all the best and in return I shall dine like a king. Seems to me that I get the best of that deal so I promise not to mock him over his beloved Bolton's four nil drubbing by Wigan yesterday. That is the least I can do and I always do the least I can do.
