Hyper obese Pete Member 70, 17865 posts SQ 322.5, BP 205, DL 300827.5 kgs @ 133kgs Eq | Aching today, and should be worse tomorrow. I am guessing that the reason for the sudden end to yesterday was that I was bolloxed. Hopefully I should get more used to this, especially with the extebded 9 / 10 day rest periods

I didn't know about him dying. He was my age, and a bit lighter. Pre-covid our lifts weren't that far apart. Obviously I didn't know the man, but I knew of him, and this may seem an odd thing to say about someone you don't know but I kinda liked him. I felt an affinity with him.

Hyper obese Pete Member 70, 17865 posts SQ 322.5, BP 205, DL 300827.5 kgs @ 133kgs Eq | Wednesday, 15th September, start 16:00 Bench, very raw 20 x 10 20 x 10 20 x 10 20 x 10 20 x 10 30 x 5 40 x 5 50 x 5 60 x 3 65 x 3 70 x 3 75 x 5 75 x 5 75 x 5 75 x 5 75 x 5 The shoulder was much better but the hips and lower back gave some grief. On the plus side it did wear off as we progressed. This may be linked to Monday's exertions so I will consider opening this out to the workout after the workout after the next squat / deadlift session. As is usual the conversation was wide and varied, but there was one amongst us who claimed that he has never had a skidmark in his grundies. Not one, not ever. I would like to believe that but I can't, I just can't. Bodyweight tonight 134.1 kilos, so again about 21 stone 1lb

Hyper obese Pete Member 70, 17865 posts SQ 322.5, BP 205, DL 300827.5 kgs @ 133kgs Eq | Friday, 17th September, start 16:00 Brbell bent row 20 x 10 30 x 10 40 x 10 50 x 10 60 x 10 70 x 10 70 x 10 75 x 10 75 x 10 Pulldown to chest 50 x 10 55 x 10 60 x 10 65 x 10 70 x 10 That'll do it for me. Mack had to do a video comp tonight which was fun to watch and worth the entry money alone. I finish tonight for a week's holiday, so I plan to do three sessions at the gym and not much else. World on the street has it that Omega now have an outlet in the Trafford Centre as well as Breitling. That may be hard to resist. Just for a look obviously

It is very difficult to believe, even more difficult is trying to imagine something more difficult to believe. I'm going to leave that there for now as that could very easily get out of control.

Hyper obese Pete Member 70, 17865 posts SQ 322.5, BP 205, DL 300827.5 kgs @ 133kgs Eq | Just watch a fascinating programe on the re-definition of the kilogram. Huge amount of work that no-one outside of the people actually doing it even noticed. Their delight that in practical, everyday terms, no-one will even notice was a joy to behold. Good on 'em.

A few years back I briefly worked for Johnson Matthey, the company that made the standard Kilogram (and also the Metre) and it's copies back in the day...I can confirm that they used to skim the floors to pick up the rubber left behind from the Worker's boots and recycle it for precious metal content...

‘downsizing’ Member 5704, 3220 posts SQ 280, BP 210, DL 320810.0 kgs @ 96.3kgs UnEq | Rick said: Yup, so it seems. And since most of the fish Britons want to eat (cod, haddock, prawns, salmon) is not caught here, this is a massive problem in both directions. As a nation we mostly don't want to eat much of our catch (mackerel, sand eels, etc) and don't want to pay for the rest (sole, langoustine, etc). Though I'd love to see dogfish back in chippies (rock salmon or huss, as it was often called). Sorry, but you’ve all been ‘had’ in Blighty Economists, traders, importers to border control specialist all warned that a hard Brexit would be catastrophic, but michael gove told brits ‘we’ve had enough of experts’. the military boots governments out by force for less in Thailand and frankly I think that wouldn’t be a bad idea there now. Johnson kicked out and a technocracy of generals, doctors and scientists installed to deal with covid and Brexit . Democracy (PR not FPTP) restored when the population can prove itself not to be complete idiots.

Hyper obese Pete Member 70, 17865 posts SQ 322.5, BP 205, DL 300827.5 kgs @ 133kgs Eq | Monday, 20th September, start 15:00 Day one of the holiday, up late, watched a film, and then braved the Trafford Centre, the highlight if which was a very tasty burger form GBK. On leaving I decided that there was little point returning home for thirty or so minutes so I went directly to the gym. Fortunately on leaving in the morning I had the foresight to put the bag in the car. T bar row, these are in pounds 50 x 10 75 x 10 100 x 10 125 x 10 144 x 10 169 x 10 188 x 10 169 x 10 144 x 10 144 x 10 144 x 10 Seated pulley rows, back to kilos now 35 x 10 40 x 10 45 x 10 50 x 10 55 x 10 60 x 10 As these were done on the new machine I had no point of reference of where to start and where to stop, but I have now. I should probably start around the fifty mark. Not many down tonight, just handsome Jeff, me and young Brooke. She lifted rather well after a few weeks of not doing so, by her own admission she had "had a word with herself" over the weekend. Whatever she said it worked so I hope she continues to say it, but you will never see a finer example of the need of "getting your mind right" as Cool Hand Luke used to say.

Hyper obese Pete Member 70, 17865 posts SQ 322.5, BP 205, DL 300827.5 kgs @ 133kgs Eq | I said:World on the street has it that Omega now have an outlet in the Trafford Centre as well as Breitling. That may be hard to resist. Just for a look obviously Word on the street proved to be correct. The Omega is directly opposite the Breitling. Breitling first then, I asked to see my watch of choice and they said they didn't have one, bit thay might be able to order one from Beitling. "Might?" I queried "Yes" they replied, "we don't sell these in the UK anymore" "Please inform your seniors that they are fools and are looking touch with reality" I told them and left The Omega shop was a different kettle of fish, they had the three watches I wished to view. One was way too chunky and thick, (circumference I can handle but chunky is another matter) one was gorgeous but only a soupcon more gorgeous than one considerably cheaper. The difference was due to materials and nothing else so that was that one out of the running. That left a very lovely thing that I could happily wear on my wrist for many years and be very comfortable with. Currently I am of the opinion to stick with what I have. But the Omega's master chronometer status and 25200 beats per hour and it's advantages over the more traditional 28800 (giving it a ten year service interval) is a big draw. The moral here gentle reader is just as you wouldn't buy a car without driving it first don't buy a watch before seeing it in the flesh so to speak.
